Default flashed pcm, now i cant read it or connect to it. need help!

Ill try to be specific as to exactly what i did.first off the car was tuned with a hypertech power programmer III to adjust for tires, and gears i removed the engine power tune.
i sent a friend a bin file for a 95 ta m6, not a copy of my bin.
I sent him a data log using tts datamaster
He modified the bin based on my data log
I scanned a copy of my bin using winflash before i did anything so i would have a back up.
I flashed the new bin to the pcm
    started car fine
whent to data log and couldn't connect to the pcm data stream, tried reading pcm with winflash several times with no luck, tried flashing my old bin, no luck, tried freescan no luck.

I'm guessing the problem is the bin i sent him contains someone else vin# and i flashed a bin with a different vin than mine. or my data cable suddenly went bad?
I disconnected the battery for 30 mins... same story.

I plugged in the hypertech and all my old stuff was still intact, it wasnt showing the vin either. I removed all of it and then adjusted for my gears and tires and afterwards it shows my vin correctly.
so im not sure whats going on. at least the car runs and drives fine but i need to be able to read the pcm.
any advice or help would greatly be appreciated

Sounds like a problem with the cable. I've never had a problem with what vin was entered in on any 94-95 car. Try the usual, rebooting the laptop, etc.

I've had it happen to me, especially on USB cables. Sometimes ports go to sleep, temporary drivers uninstall, a lot can happen really. Try a different usb port on the computer, rebooting, make sure firewalls and antivirus programs are closed. If that doesn't work try reinstalling drivers.

yea i had to switch ports originally and always have with any of these . is there a way i can use my 94 cable with some wires to rule out the 95 cable being bad?
i uninstalled alot of stuff on this laptop hoping it was blocking something. no luck. im running windows 7 are there better drivers for the usb, mine are from a disc i got in 2011 or so

There is a way to use a 94 cable on a 95 but you would have to have a cabbaged 94 data port to plug into the cable and hardwire it to the 95 port.

i saw someone make a adapter for obd2 to one...i also hear the serial to usb is more reliable than just straight up usb. i was able to get things to work today for one key cycle , then back to normal. maybe i should not use windows 7 and revert to xp ?
