    Default Lakewood Drag Struts

    Anyone have heard of or have any experience with these drag struts? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/la...ro?prefilter=1

    Although not cheap, they are less than half the price of QA1s. I am considering them since I already have the Eibach drag springs to compliment them.

    I would spend the extra $ for fully adjustable....I also wouldn't use those on a street driven vehicle. If I street drive mine with the shocks set for the track, the car drives/handles like ass. Its a real bonus to be able to stiffen the front back up for street duty.

    e I would go with an adjustable shock. With those your stuck with what they're set at if they're too tight or loose there's nothing you can do about it. As the weight of your car changes (if you lighten the front or add weight like a power adder) that extension and compression rate will also need to change. There's no way to tell what weight valving Lakewood has built into those.

    My car is a single purpose vehical. It will see very limited street duty. Mostly a track toy. On a tight budget, I am leaning toward them. QA1's you are looking at $500 bucks for the fronts. I would like to know if anyone knows how well they work in 4th gens. I have experience with 90/10's in older vehicles but not sure about 4th gens.

    I've never heard of anyone running them but then again i live under a rock lol, if it's a track car then save your money and do it RIGHT the first time and get your QA1's.. you won't regret it. Besides drag racing ain't cheap anyways LOL! if those lakewoods are the ones i'm thinking of i wouldn't do it, with an adjustable shock like the new qa1's you want them to have a loose extension to get good weight transfer to the rear, then have them firm for the compression so it doesn't want to bounce... Look at those HAL QA1'S, they offer a single adjustable which is not a bad price and they offer it with a set firm compression with and adjustable extension. Front shocks are a very important tool in tuning a chassis and i wouldn't skimp on them IMO
