the 9006 bulbs will work with the sealed housings you just have to silicon the bulbs into place, I have the 8k bulbs and prolly gonna get 6k's the 8's are too blue hard to see at night

Can you get a 9006 in a 6k without needing the ballast?

9006 is just the bulb size. And the 6k is just the "color". You can get 6k in the 9006 without a ballast. But it won't be an HID. It will be xenon or some other type of bulb. All HID (high intensity discharge) bulbs require a ballast to whip the voltage up. On top of that there's 35 watt and 55 watt

I may just try the bulb first. I'm after the color mostly.

That's about the basic colors. There's more specifics I've seen. 5000k's etc but also be weary of cheap eBay stuff. I bought some hid fogs for my camaro and they were 10k and it was barely blue at all. And I bought some xenons for my bro and they seemed kinda cheap.
If you don't want the ballast, most auto stores have these new sylvania xenons that are supposed to be wicked bright and in 6000kLast edited by Ibanezz; 12-21-2012 at 09:53 AM.

Thanks I'll keep that in mind. I'll check them out for the low beams and fog lights.
