Clutch dragging?
I need some opinions.
I just replaced my clutch with a CCI Stage 2, had my flywheel resurfaced. I also replaced my master and slave cylinder with a prebled unit from WS6store. Now, there is a slight bit of clutch pedal vibration at the top of the pedal. It goes away when you rest your foot on it. What I'm mainly concerned about is...
With the rear end of the car jacked up off of the ground & engine running, when I depress the clutch and put it in first, the tires rotate 1/4 of the way. With the clutch still depressed, I pull it out of first, then put it back in first and the tires don't rotate. Does this mean my clutch is dragging, or do the tires just rotate 1/4 of the way the first time because I'm putting it in first right after I depress the clutch? When the car is on the ground, it doesn't move forward on flat ground or anything.
Thanks,
Spencer

I think the movement your seeing is the gears meshing inside the tranny. An easy way to check if the clutch is dragging is to start the car, press clutch, put in first, then with the clutch still pressed, go for reverse. Should not hesitate to go into gear or grind.
Pedal vibration is a sign of a warped flywheel. Chance that the shop didn't do a very good job of resurfacing the flywheel.95 Impala SS Clone

did you change the pilot bearing in the crank when you changed the clutch? that is also a common source of vibration

With the car on jack stands, in neutral, the tires will always rotate a bit. My car always did that, but as soon as you hit the clutch the rotation would stop. As 95ImpySS, its just the momentum from the gears meshing and the entire clutch assembly moving that transfers movement to the tires. I wouldn't worry about it. My car also has that softness the first few inches of travel. Its nothing to worry about...
A buddy of mine put brand new hydraulics in a Formula and that mushiness was still there at the top of the pedal. You can try bench bleeding the hydraulics to absolutely get all the air out of the system...1995 Camaro Z28 M6...383 cid, 4 bolt splayed mains, CP -6.83 cc pistons, Callies Compstar Rods, Callies Dragonslayer Crank, LE ported TFS 21* heads, LE Custom grind, 12.7:1 SCR - 452hp/440tq
