Rising price of freon

Anyone notice that the price of R134a has gone up more than double. I remember about 1 1/2 years ago a 1 lb bottle was $7.99. Its now just under $18. I wonder why it has gone up so far. Summer time price gouging?

I bought a 30lb cylinder for $8 per lb a few months ago. I know a 12oz can at Advance is $16.

I try to keep 1lb bottles around because its just easyer to sell. Crazy how much its gone up. Just beats me?

Cant say I've seen a 1 lb bottle unless it one of those that has the hose on the end. All cans here are 12oz.
