Thread: heads and cam

    Default heads and cam

    i new to this site but had a question. i was wondering if the le2 head and cam package would get me almost 400rwhp. the car is a 93z28 a4 with a cai and exhaust. i understand more boltons will be need but i was just wondering where it would put me.

    depends on the cam, trans, overall condition of the motor, valve train parts etc. to vague of a question IMO.

    The heads and cam package is good but you'll also need to have Lloyd port that intake as well so it will help the heads breathe better. With an A4 you're going to lose a lot of power through the drive train and make less at the wheels than you would with a manual transmission. You'll definitely be close. My car is a LE1 w/ stainless steel valves/hot cam/intake car and I also have an A4 with a stall. I'm still waiting on my tune before I can drive it.

    Porting the intake manifold isn't really worth it. Advanced Induction actually told me that porting the intake manifold on my 383 wouldn't be worth the money, but I insisted on it anyway because I had some extra cash. IMO, don't worry about the manifold.

    This still passes CA emissions so that was the reason for the smallish cam.

    thanks uncool that helps alot. the cam i was planing on useing is 232/240 .578/.574 110 LSA - 2200-6400 RPM
    on the question about the engine it has 109000 miles on it.
