Default Empty fuel tank by jumpering fuel pump relay?

I've had gas in my fuel tank for almost a year now while doing my engine build and it wasn't stabilized before hand. I honestly didn't think the build was going to take that long. Would it be okay to hook a hose to the return line and jumper the fuel pump relay to pump the fuel out of the tank? Any opinions?

As long as that fuel hasnt gummed up or anything I would say have at it , I would flow it all out before the filter and replace that as well,

The last one I did like that we disconected the lines at the intake. (they are long and flexible) this made it easy for bucket placement. After that change Fuel filter and fill up with new gas. Don't run it completely empty of you will fry your fuel pump. They are notoriuos for overheating like that.
