Wow I forgot about this thread. Thanks for all the replys. I could only find a a couple alarms that were not built by Directed Electronics AKA DEI. They have bought out most major alarm brands. Clifford, Python, Viper, Automate and Avital. The are all VERY similar and owned by DEI. Even the part numbers are close to if not exactly the same as each other. I settled for a Viper 5704, $199.00 shipped. 1 mile range, 2 way communication, rechargeable key fob, and it will work with the rest of my DEI sensors. I understand the pros will just snatch the car. I always try to make it hard for them. Car has, 4 sirens, train horns, multiple battery's, strobes lights, hidden brain, tucked wires etc. Just trying to make the car as noticeable as possible if its messed with. I'll be out side in a heart beat if it goes off. I spent months fine tuning the sensitivity of my old Matrix 10.5 to avoid "false" alarms.
The cell phone app capable alarms require a monthly subscription service and an additional module added to the system. I'm still in the dark ages with my BB, so the smart phone apps don't work very well with my not so smart phone.
I REALLY wanted a CodeAlarm system, because they have a real panic horn honk system that keeps the honks random rather than rhythmic. But the lack of expand ability and not available on Amazon is what held me back. They only offered a built in shock sensor. :/
Madman337, I never though about holding the brakes on. I think I am going to really look into that.
Thanks for the input everyone.95 Impala SS Clone
