    Default box behind shifter?

    i have a 93 A4. im building a street strip car and i had the center consol out and was wondering what the little black box behind the shifter was. it has a wiring harness going to it. any help would be appreciated

    A square-ish box mounted on a bracket on top of the tunnel should be the arming sensor for the SRS (air bag) system.

    If the wiring is yellow, it's an airbag sensor.

    Its the airbag I would leave it alone.

    i already have the airbag disconnected and a grant steering wheel so i was thinking of leaving it out. cant see why it would hurt??
