Wow thats impressive! so helps after the 1/8th mile. You think i would have to mod the LS1 Ram air hood to make it fit or no? but man .2 and 3 mph over the CAI thats a huge difference in my eyes. Everyone else who bashes this seems to not even have it done to there cars

it helps everywhere, also, that difference was also with an aftermarket lid, which you can find for 40-60 bucks used over on tech. unless you really want the 98-02 front end, I would just look for a lt1 ws6 hood, or an ls1 stylews6 hood for the lt1 birds. A lot less work and a lot less money. Now something else that you could do is, find a ram air hood for the 93-97 birds, find a normal ls1 lid and base set up, and then get the ram air set up that they use, that uses a rectangular tube that grabs air from the air dam, and it does work, buddy of mine has it and noticed a big difference. I think fast toys sells one calles SSRA, slp has one too. The normal ls1 base and lid setup will fit under an lt1 ram air hood without much modding, if any.

I've only been out there a couple times this year, I've been wanting to get back with this nice cold weather, probably some good negative d.a. numbers. I really want to get a clean run in with my new set up

my best on street tires, bolt-ons, was 13.5 @ 107, I canot launch the car to save my life. First run with the new cam and some massaged stock heads was a 12.9 @ 111, on a 2.15 60', still on the bolt on mailorder tune, was on my dr's though. Next two runs were crap, then 4th was a 12.8 @ 110 on 2.00 60' and was running down a bolt-on, a4, ls2 gto HARD. Maybe we can meet up there one night.

i've done this mod and have noticed gains...i believe the gains to be associated to dramaticaly lowered IAT temps , straighting out the air flow, and giving the manifold a slight +charge at 80+ speeds ..around town i find my IAT's at ambient temp and sometimes a degree cooler...heres my write up
