I was on jackstands to install mine.
it can be done, make sure they are as high as possible, have fun and take your time
what headers? pacesetters? passenger side from the top with starter removed etc, drivers side from the bottom or top with steering knuckle/linkage removed. still need the front of the car up in the air a solid 16-18". i dont like jackstands so i built cribbage like @meissen used (thanks for the idea!) to pull his motor. then i can get whole car in air 24" to bottom of tire, so i have plenty of room for shennanigans. alot safer too, since the car is sitting on a 2'x2' pad under each tire. also made frame holders that slip and lock into the cribs so if im dropping a k or rear it makes life easy and safe.

I can get you some tomorrow night. When I did the body mounts on my impala, i basically had the entire body off the frame, left frame on ground on tires, jacked up with a 3 jacks [one each side one in back] using long 2x4"s doubled up and slid cribs under with 4x4's ontop to set it on.
What kind of car? Can you easily remove front fenders/fenderwells/core support stuff

Right we use cribbing at work for some jobs small boats. I'm a Marine Tech mostly inboards but some outdrives as well. I dig the idea, more like duh NS. Sometimes you have to look out side the box. And yes stands scare the crap out of me as well. Like what you did want to do shenanigans? no safe been there with my first build. 63' Bug transaxle swap dang thing slipped out of my hands and legs knocked the car over and thanks to there being space for when it fell not even a scrape just needed new shorts.
What about those for sale by one of the sponsors? They looked nice an tight to the frame.
Yes LPP seen a lot of chat on those. You have to excuse me sometimes. I've got 15 years clean from a lot of substances. Not good at writing.
So IM saying even thought Pacesetters aren't tuned they fit better but still what about the ground clearance? And didn't the LPP's have better clearance from what I've read here
@Sahara54 and I had very good luck with my LPP'S. Seems like the vendor only pops in when he's ready to sell another run of his headers tho. Don't get me wrong I love the headers but, don't expect any kind of interaction with him if you need to contact him.

Car is an 86 GN. (My dad's). Exactly what I'm doing, changing the body mounts, stripping and painting the frame with POR-15.
Sounds like we're on the same page. What I was looking to do was find a way to keep the body suspended and drop the frame to the floor.
The only thing left on the frame is the body, fuel and brake lines. Front clip, off. Suspension, engine, trans, gas tank, rear end out. I have Buick parts everywhere. It looks like a Buick threw up in my garage and even in my basement.

We put lpp's on @Ltconvert procharged camaro. Besides looking pretty, they fit like crap, hit steering knuckle/kmember/underbody of car in various spots. Not impressed for the money. Pacesetters were on the car and required ZERO denting/bending/tweaking etc. Pacesetter y pipe seems like it would flow better the way the merge is. I honestly dont think the 1/8" difference is worth the headaches.
Motor mounts were same poly ones for both headers, same crossmember, etc
Summit brand longtubes for these cars are black painted pacesetters, alot cheaper
Ground clearance with either is about the same since they are slip fit collector and not flanged like the hooker headers
