lately my electric water pump is getting loud like very loud. like bearing sound loud should i be getting worried? its not over heating wires arnt getting hot. seems to be ok but its loud.

I don't think I'd trust it myself. When it seizes, it'll be fast and furious.
Yeah, I would go ahead and replace it.
hmmm that doesnt sound right....probably should replace it just in case.
has anyone else had this problem before? its not that old maybe a year or 2.
I have had a CSI since 04' (but it only has 2k miles on it).
mine is a csr or cvr i forget now. but has maybe 25k miles.
25k is a good life out of a ewp. Id replace it before it freezes up.

eff it put a alarm on ur temp and rock it till it dies. Or add some oil to ur water to lube the bearings up!!
lol but theres many ppl that have had theres a lot longer then i have, i just put a lot of miles on my car its a DD and has been all over the state. i think the recent straight water no coolant is the reason the bearings arnt happy lol.
Mine used to be really quite till it got hot one day. i had a bad connection in my harness and the pump stopped getting power. By some miracle I didn't blow my motor up. My pump makes a funny noise now for over a month on my DD. I keep my spare ewp in the trunk and my eye on the temp gauge.
You're running straight water? Where's the facepalm smiley when you need it?
HORRIBLE idea on so many levels. That is likely the reason your pump failed.
Water + aluminum components (or MOST metals for that part) = corrosion.
Water also boils (under 18psi) at 222 degrees, so your "coolant" in the engine is almost always boiling before being returned to the radiator. That's the point in adding antifreeze, to raise the boiling point of the water/coolant mixture. This can create hot spots in the cylinder heads - NOT good, ESPECIALLY on the LT1 with its reverse flow cooling.
Also, did you use tap water or distilled water? Tap water contains mineral deposits which can speed up corrosion.
So it looks like you're out a water pump and $20 worth of coolant. Sucks man. :(
there was once water wetter in there, but as many times as its been apart in the last 6 months i doubt its got any in there now. Besides that i took 5 mins of my life an pulled it out. no rust or corrosion what so ever, opened the pump an nothing looks bad what so ever. But the magnets messed up the pump when i pulled it apart so its done for. gonna get a csr i think now
