I know most have already seen this video, and its such a shame. But the videos I had seen, never showed the actual damage.

Gotta love the comments. Everyone seems to think they're a professional race car driver and that the driver of that Corvette was a pimply-faced neophyte.
With 650 horsepower that sort of thing can happen to anyone on the street, regardless of skill level. All it takes is a patch of wet or uneven pavement, a false move on the shifter, throttle or steering wheel, or what apparently happened in this case, a lack of familiarity with the car's handling characteristics.
If you're an experienced driver, you shouldn't ever get that caught off guard by a sudden loss of traction and direction. I've had my T/A (700+ RWHP) and Corvette (760 RWHP at the time) both do it to me and was able to immediately correct on my own. Blaming the car or lack of knowledge about launch control is just shuffling blame off of where it belongs. The driver.
amateur. lol
it is a mix of both. Novice driver (meaning either a real novice or novice with car/power level) and relying too much on "technology." Even seasoned drivers with cars they are familiar with get caught off guard. I ditched the Z once, and yesterday this happened:

That is why they are called accidents and thankfully cars can be fixed.
Ouch... what hapnd Jay?
novice driver, wet road, under steer... He is familiar with the power of the car, relied on the AWD too much. Hit a guard rail, bounced, overcorrected and tapped the back. Car was drive-able. Picked up salvage fender and tail light today. Rear quarter is hammered out and filled already. Is a not so bad fix and my son learned a lesson. thankfully he was not hurt, only his pride. Just like the guy in the vette, it does not matter the power level or the skill level.. shit happens.
also, to the topic of the arm chair referees... after he hit the guardrail and pulled over he called me. I work like 3 min away. As I got there a lady in a Benz slowed down and yelled out the window to him and his friends "Next time you will slow down, you little shits" It took all my power not to go snap her neck.
Eh..... it is his car an money so if he can drive it however he wants.
Accidents happen I'll give you that, but when I get ready to do something stupid in a car, I sure as hell am giving all the attention I have.
I've run through my own transmission fluid on a track a couple of hundred feet out an saved it. My brother has run into someone else's fluid just past the 1/8th mile while on a 160+mph nitrous pass and drifted towards the wall and saved it. I've left and hit a little methanol under the tire in a dragster and saved it. I have a video of the dragster save, it was pretty hairy.
He didn't lift when he got into trouble. Also racing near trees is retarded. I've been a first responder to a couple of accidents that involved people hitting trees, they are about the worst thing you can hit in a car.
