You should do that now so you can sell your stock LT for more than the 5.3 costs!
You'll be fine. Just take your time and make sure stuff is done right. Get a bunch of plastic containers or bags to bag all the stuff when you pull it, and label stuff with tape when it comes apart so you remember what it is and where it goes when you reassemble. Also take a lot of pics before and during tear down so you can look back at them when reassembling. Try and make sure you've got every little bolt, gasket, and fluid ahead time to avoid trips to the parts store.
Spring time you, @dawdaw, and I will have to plan a day to all go to Stanton or something and we can see how much improvement our winter projects make!
Stanton would be nice. I liked ubly more though.
And thanks. I'm only a little nervous. Like setting valve lash and stuff and measuring pushrod length.
I'm more worried about pulling the Trans. That's something I'm a little hesitant on. But I know the Ltx family got my back!
I've never been to Ubly, don't they have a dirt pit area? pulling everything out is surprisingly easy. we pulled it from the bottom using a engine hoist to lift the car and it wasn't to bad.
