Well 8k into it yeah... I was looking to get around 430 RWHP and that was going to cost me 4300 plus another 700 or so for nitrous setup... plus another 3 grand in suspension and rear end work and brakes... so yeah about 8k....
I was shooting for 600 HP at the wheels with the help of nitrous that is

The sad thing is the 550 whp FI motor will probly be more streetable than the 450 whp NA one, just due to cam selection..
I'm going to have 9k in my 4 bolt splayed 385 with AI200 heads, intake and 22x/23x on 108lsa and know before the motor even goes in the car that I will not see 500 rwhp. Hoping for 430 rwhp with a dyno tune. But I am at a disadvantage with you guys. The Imp is 1000-800 lbs heavier than the f-bodys. If I can get high 10's on a 150 shot I will be extremely happy! But dyno numbers don't really matter to me. Its what it does at the track that counts!!!
We did 500rwhp in a buddies 396 car, had a T56 and 12 Bolt I believe. Car had some ported AFR 210s, mono blade, solid roller and an LT4 intake manifold on it. Cool set up, car was really fun on the street just instant torque monster. I think 500rwhp is doable in a solid roller stroker, street friendly just maybe not daily driver friendly. A lot easier done with a six speed then an auto, Ramair95ta made 455rwhp through a auto and 9 inch, same with the black 94 Firehawk, he's an auto too.
I just don't know why people want to put a HP goal on things, personally. I am still running the street stock class, have a little traction issue off the line with a best 60' of 1.72 and dynoed a few weeks ago at 253HP, running a best of 12.92 so far.
I would rather address my goals as an 11-second N/A car and spray it as low as it will go. Other than a dyno sheet to frame or a number to throw out at people about your car, why are some many people looking for a specific HP??
Just wondering, no offense to anyone about anything intended.
I thank some people chase the number. In the hopes that will get them to there goal.
HP is just a part of the design. The car must be effective at using the power efficiently.
I know Im not a drag racer. But in road course/autox we follow the same principle.
Chasing a number just seems crazy to me. So say someone posts on here their exact build with their dyno sheet at 503HP, then someone takes that and build it exactly and dyno out at 482HP. Other than tuning and tweaking, you are NOT at 500HP.
Maybe I don't get it from lack of sleep right now. I will think about it tonight in between killing zombies and snoring.
