The OP had a chandler in his car but it already died. My dad had one in his car too but we sold it shortly after because it kept backfiring and we figured it wasn't the optispark since we already replaced that... who knows, maybe it still was.
My opti was kicked across a field but still runs like a champ *knocks on wood*
I havent put my chandler in yet.I bought it under multiple recommendations. Here i am 6 days ahead of my cam swap and i find this thread.
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
Go for it. Whether it lasts or doesn't is hit or miss, but frankly most of the optisparks you buy are hit or miss. I know second hand someone who had an MSD Optispark die within the first 100 miles, it's just the luck of the draw it seems. Whatever optispark you buy, take it apart, loctite the internal screws so they don't back out, and RTV the optispark shut.
Bought a delco opti from summit. Hopefully I get many trouble free miles on my new setup.
No, should be two lines. One that goes from the intake elbow down to the optispark and then the other line goes from the optispark to the intake manifold. The line going to the intake manifold literally sucks the air out of the optispark and the line coming from the intake elbow keeps the fresh air going into the optispark.
