What does everyone run for an Opti? I have a bad sensor, no spark, power to the opti, so traced it to the opti, and have another sensor I am going to use. I was just wondering what everyone is using these days.

AC Delco from American powerhouse aka gail
AC Delco or Delphi
I believe you can only find "remanufactured" AC Delco now. Have not seen Delphi units for awhile now
Anything else is a crap shoot
I would use a junkyard AC Delco (if rear bearing was still good) with a new MSD cap & rotor before one of the cheap clones sold under various auto part store brands
Dynaspark is another

Are you getting codes for the Opti cam position sensor?
Have you checked for the correct A/C volts on the white wire from the PCM to the ICM.
You can buy a replacement optical module now, but it's from a very unreliable source, I think it All Ignitions under a new name.
I don't have any way to read codes, and checked for power to the opti from the pcm, also checked for pulse to the #1 injector, and pulled the coil wire to look for spark, same with #1 plug boot, and swapped icm as well
Go to:
www.shbox.com
go to "Tech Page"
go to "How To".
Scroll down to article "28" for test procedure
Note that the wiring diagrams are for the F-Body, so be aware of the pin markings (A, B, C, D), in case the wire colors are different in the B-Body.
Are you using an OBD-1 PCM or OBD-2?
I am 94 Impy, so I think OBD-1, and I have done the paper clip deal on my 91 Z, so will have to try it on the impy, thanks
