FInd a tuner, and a GPS with mileage tracking, and get tuner to write an affidavit and have it notarized, and video tape GPS tracking against the speed before/after for verification. That's the best I can think of.
Why would your speedo be off though?? Did you make a drastic tire height change?

no. Ill have to double check but the computer was supposed to be calibrated for the 373's and the 18's with a 35 series tire. maybe not. didnt realize it would be off by that much. but according to the cops and the gps it is.

Could have the cops radar gun not been calibrated recently?
Also, your that worried about people on here coming to see you? lol If anyone on here was that worried they probably would have already found it. But I understand there are some weirdo's out there. lol

Tom, I have an excel spreadsheet that calculates the the Pulses you need to calibrate VSS for the speedo. It accounts for gear and tire size.

Just take the car to a shop that calibrates speedo's, have them check it, they will give you a calibration sheet, take it to court with you, and show the judge. Most times the judge will reduce it to the calibration, as long as the speedo is fixed prior to court. Oooh, and tell the judge exactly what you told us; you didn't know it was off. Good luck to ya man.

i would guess when you changed gears and tire size and programmed that into the computer it didn't change it over. When i put 3.73s in my old car the speedo was off by like 13mph

Not sure if Delaware has a defective equipment law or not. If you show them the video and the judge goes for it, he may find you guily of defective equipment (because your speedometer is off.) Still better than a speeding ticket.

agreed. PA can cite you as well for that. You get caught speeding and say your speedo is not working, or not working properly.... and you can get a second ticket...
Ok, since we are down to the buzzer here.... my best advice.....
-GET TO COURT EARLY.
-TRY TO FIND THE COP BEFORE THE HEARING.
- RESPECTFULLY ASK HIM IF YOU CAN HAVE A MOMENT OF HIS TIME (we love our egos stroked)
-EXPLAIN TO HIM YOUR SITUATION, AND SAY THAT YOU DID NOT REALIZE YOUR SPEEDO WAS MALFUNCTIONING, SO YOU CHECKED IT AFTER HE BROUGHT IT TO YOUR ATTENTION.....
-EXPLAIN THAT IF HE HAS SEE THE CITATION THROUGH, ASK IF HE WOULD BE WILING TO MAKE IT A "NON-POINT", or "NON MOVING" violation to save you the other issues.
-ALSO, if he asks, tell him you are in the process of dealing with the dealership to see how to correct the situation..... tell him, they are looking for you to spend $$$$$(fill in price here) to put a new cluster in the car and recalibrate the vehicle....
AGAIN I AM SOO SORRY I SLACKED.

What a freakin mess! Well the night before i got some pics of the gps and the speedo together and ill tell ya, i got some good ones. at 60mph indicated im doin 70. I got alot of pics at different speeds and printed them all out and had then nice and neat in a folder. I got ready and headed out and got to the court which was about an 1hr and half away in salisbury md. I actually got there 30 min early(1030 apperance) just to make sure. When i walked into the building they have the guards and i asked them just to make sure i was in the right court cause there are a couple in a 2block radius. I also showd my court summons to the security and the court clerks and they said i needed to go to court room 1. well i sat there and my time came and went and i noticed that the officer didnt show up yet and im thinkin "hell yeah" cause if they dont show then i get off with out an incedent. They were haveing all these trials and it kept going and going and going and 1130 came around still no officer. so im thinkin "he aint showin and im good." 1145 somes around and the judge decides to take a break so i get some time to go up to the DA and she looks at the summons and said she didnt know they were doin traffic court today, but takes alook around and says "well i dont see the officer so it looks like your good" but takes the summons up to the clerk next to the judge and she comes back and says"your in the wrong court!" I said WHAT! It was a court in princess anne, about 25 min away! WTF they said I was in the right place!!!! So they said I needed to call the court and I did and she said "well your not the 1st person to do that but.......court session is over for today" DAMIT! She said I need to write the judge a letter and explain the circumstances and ask if he'll reopen the case. so there was a 5 to 6hrs out of my day for nothing!

Yeah, now i just gotta hope the judge will reopen the case. hopefully he will cause i dont need the points on my licence. I havent had any tickets for 6-7 yrs(well ones that i was found guilty off anyway lol). In all actuality i am guilty of the charge but i did it without know ing i was doing it.

Well you have your evidence... just remember, before all of that... talk to the cop like I suggested earlier....
