I just used a 95 Block to temp replace my 93 while it is being rebuilt. The swap was easy enough except that the 95 Block doesn't have the raised boss on the driver side for the Oil sending unit. It is behind the Intake Manifold on later LT1 Blocks.
The unit is smaller than the early ones and will not interchange. I had always assumed the LT1 Blocks were the same throughout the yrs with changes to other areas....wrong!
It's no big obstacle but one that needs to be dealt with.

The raised boss is on the driver side midway and close to the top. Just above the markings "327".

Heads up if you plan a lower end swap.

Every block I've ever seen had a port in both locations. The Pressure Sending Units are all the same, the location behind the intake manifold uses a 90* fitting on it to angle for clearance. Check right above the oil filter on the block you've got in there and I bet you find a plugged port. IIRC there was nothing raised about the port.....but I can double check my 93 block on the stand in the garage for confirmation.

agreed, there should be a port just above the filter with a plug in it.
