I'm looking at an aftermarket Kenwood headunit and it has the left/right RCA input for the sub, is this what the stock Bose sub in the back uses so I can just plug it in?

im pretty sure those rca's off the radio are meant for the amp that powers the "sub"that way the radio can control the sub by controlling its power source..been out of the stereo game for a really long time so i definatly could be wrong

Oh ok, thanks for the correction. In that case does the stock amp use the red/white RCA connectors?

No, it doesn't. The amp has a single on/off signal wire that turns the amp on from the HU.

FWIW i run a aftermarket H/U with my old stock Bose crap. I replaced the sub with a real one (with seperate amp) this year and I am going to replace the door speakers this year and delete the stock amps. You hook up the aftermaket H/U as normal, the blue wire will turn on the BOSE amps, but IMHO they sound like crap.

when you remove the head unit look if the factory harness has a wire that is all metal no sheething around it. if it does you will have some problems with a popping sound in the speakers. i would recomend rewiring the car if you replace the radio. i am in the chicago area and do this for a living let me know if you need help.
