Im swapping over to an LS1 pcm and while im in the middle of rewiring what are some of the inputs on the PCM that I reuse for things like 0-5V fuel pressure sensors, boost pressure sensor, EGT sensor ect... I know the AC switch is one but what are some of the other or are there some pins that didnt have pinouts to an LS1 but are active I/O ports on the LSx pcm?

I want to be able to log a bunch of stuff with HP tuners without having to connect wires to my Pro tuner each time....

you need to contact www.eficonnection.com (http://www.eficonnection.com)
there are a number of bonuses to swapping to the LsX pcm
much faster processing
easier to tune
way more parameters
fans can be tuned to stay running up to 5min after key-off
most of all some can pull 7-7200rpm from the stock pcm but where does the LtX pcm begin having trouble. the LsX pcm goes 9500rpm not saying you need it but it is available....
i will be installing mine in the next month or so as i need a few more componets to complete my kit.

Yes I know all about those Im talking about the extra stuff that hasnt been talked about.... I want to start logging different outputs into ports on the PCM that im not using or some that are empty ports but are still "live" on the inside of the PCM....

All the other stuff is exactly why im switching :)

Only thing Ive heard about people doing is using some miscellaneous, unused sensor inputs to log 0-5v data. For example, the A/C pressure sensor is 0-5v and the input can be easily re-tasked for Wideband or Fuel pressure sensors.

As far as HPtuners goes, you can log wideband and such with the green header on the Pro Tuner. If you get an extra header connector from HP tuners, you can wire your extra stuff to it and leave it stashed away in the car somewhere. Then whenever you do logging (which requires the HPtuners hardware to be in the car anyway) you can just plug in your connector and be done with it.

Ya ill be using the 0-5v ac input to log boost and my wideband is ran to the header connector on the hp tuners box. I guess its not that important since I planned on doing just what you said but it would be nice to have everything come in through the ALDL port. Are any of the auto trans sensors 0-5v?

You can do it man. Mike Noonan at eficonnection is a good guy and can do the harness for you if you want but is more an excellent supplier for all you need. I have a few write ups on harness conversions. I did a 93 to 2002 LS1 swap from auto to manual just finishing up my 95 LT1 to LS1 pcm with a vortech supercharger running a maf tune all accessible through OBDII serial data for hp tuners. I also did a 93 to a 2004 GTO motor with a 4L80E, little more difficult but still doable.

The issue you will have though is you need software for it,it can be flashed to rewrite ports and they are out there but you need to know them in order to reassign channels or to add new ones you need very expensive piggy backing hardware and separate softawre. You can feed them in through old signals and rewire the harness to act a desired way by programming the pcm in a way that tricks the circuit operation to funtion in ways you want such as a nitrous switch that is pcm controlled off certain ac inputs like pressure sensor is set to a certain map sensor and the on switch is a window switch, its really how indepth do you want to go and creative.

Thats exactly what I wanted this thread to discuss. The LSX PCms are really an excellent setup and id like to explore the limits to see just how close you can get to an aftermarket setup. Something as comanding a fuel pump on at a certain map reading... I just want to see what the limits are...
