Debate between two Daily Drivers

Ok, so AZ2ENVY and I have finally decided that I need to get myself a Daily Driver. We have three cars between us but two of them areCamaro's and they like to hide in the garage. We also have a 1998 Saturn SL2, but since he works in a different town than me it makes it harder for me to get to work. As of right now our room mate drives me to work, and I miss out on opportunities to get more hours due to no ride. So yeah, here are my two choices... (pics will be posted when I get home from work tonight)

2005 Saturn Ion Red Line
- Supercharged
- Manual
- Body Color Red
- has 57391 Miles on it
- Dash cluster in center of car
- is the 2 plus 2 Door style
- All power locks, sunroof, windows, etc.
- Normal material on the inside strip with Leather Boarder
- 21 to 23 city/ 28 to 31 Highway


2005 Saturn Vue
- Manual
- Body color Silver
- has 73813 miles
- Cloth seats
- Dash cluster left side by Driver
- All power locks, windows, etc.
- Back windows tinted
- CD/Radio
- 18 to 21 city/ 23 to 28 Highway


** All info is based on pics off website, will be going Friday (hopefully) to view both vehicles. Personally I like the IRL better due to less Manufacture issues vs. the Vue with multiple issues. Most have been addressed by Saturn but still makes me worry the Vue has issues that slipped thru the cracks. Any advice would be GREATLY APPRECIATED :) Thanks in advance!

POPO - Yeah I know, and thats why I want the IRL but AZ2ENVY wants the SUV for Mountains and other fun stuff I guess. I want go fast hahaha.

We're going to get another Camaro once we buy a house. But as of right now, its just not something realistic for our family. We do alot of traveling, sight seeing, and camping. I worry too much about a cooler dumping in the backseat to use a Camaro fo Camping or Car Show stuff. :(

I like the redline better. But if you two do a lot of camping and traveling in mountains, I would go with the Vue. Either would be great vehicles both on maintenance and on fuel.

Jeeps are sweet, but you'll be spending a lot more at the pump.

Yeah, like I said he's now talkin about gettin a Jeep. Don't get me wrong I like Jeeps, but as stted before I will be paying alot for gas and that will suck the fun out of all of it. You got his number Brock, you can call or text him anytime ;) Oh yeah, and I wouldn't let him slam this one. It doesn't need to be lowered. It looks nice yeah, but like you said no one can ride with due to how far he drops em lol. Still one mean lookin Saturn tho!

Personally... I think a good DD isnt something that is fast. There are some exceptions... But I think a good DD is something that gets you from point A to point B with no problems, safely, and isnt going to break the bank if it were to break. That being said, I would get the Vue out of your two selections.

If I had a saturn ion redline, I would beat on it. Who wouldnt? Its got a supercharger! Its not slow by anymeans either. If you start beating on it, things may start to break. Thats just how I look at it from my point of view, but you may be completely different than me.

I LOVE my trailblazer as a DD. Its not fast, so theres no point in "beating on it". Its got 4WD, so it can get through the snow when I need it to, and its been very reliable.

You already have a sporty car.. IMHO, you should get something that will be very reliable and keep you out of trouble and I vote for the Vue.

i would say the ion also. i know DD aren't suppose to be the funnest of things, but with IRL you will be getting good gas mileage and will also be able to hit the twisties with a little supercharged fun if you want. and you just cant beat that whine at WOT!lol in this specific case IRL FTW.

I love my Jeep and you can find them cheap plus they run forever. For the extra cash you could save youll have plenty left over for gas. Plus it will tow a car if ever needed. True campers SUV. BTW gas isnt that bad I fill up once every 1 1/2 2 weeks if I dont go some where real far. I paid 3k for this.
