Are there any other tuning and data logging options for us speed density guys at an affordable price? I like the APU1 package from moates, but it's $330 (granted that's a decent price, but at the moment med school tuition is around the corner and not having a job doesn't help either lol). Anything else out there cheaper than that, that will allow me to tune/burn chips and datalog my car? It's on a PCMFORLESS tune and is running pretty rich. :secret:

Pocket Programmer 2 is about $100-125 IIRC if you can find one. Chips from Moates are about $4-6 each IIRC. TTS Datamaster for logging is $125. Tunercats for tuning is about $125 also.
There's no way around it cheaply. You're going to spend in the $250-300 range no questions asked.

Do you need a special tuner cats? Because all my friends have tuner cat and various tuning programs, so maybe that will make things cheaper. Is the pocket programmer a chip burner?

I have found TunerPro RT decent and freeware (with a donation nag screen).. It datalogs but doesn't cost hundreds like datamaster.
I've used it on my car so far and like it..

So what exactly do I need? A chip burner, chips, data logging software, tuning software and a cable of some sort?

The chip cars require a different definition file than the flash cars for tunercats.

Yea, PCM cars use $EE if I remember, while the ECM chip cars use $DA3... I have both definition files, but they are in tunerpro format..

Could 1badz use these "emulators" that I have heard of? I know I can't but I think he can..

Hm.. so I have to purchase the right one.. Hey, I see you're on Oveido.. Do you have a chip burner? Maybe I could trailer my car up there and you could tune it for me.. $$$$$

Heh, just wish the drive from Ft. Lauderdale was worth a datalog -_- I wish there was someone in central/south florida that could tune speed density vehicles. Jeremy Fermato is in california or something. He was just down earlier this month and I missed him.

Well I may end up getting a speed density 93 z28 like you, so I'll be in the same boat. Though it may get a tune before I ever see the car.
