I searched but couldnt find precisely what I was looking for.
Who or where can I find how to put HID's in my '96 Formula Firebird's headlights. How would I modify the headlight housing, I need to see pictures of anyone's headlights who has done this I don't want to do an entire projection swap, just ballasts and 5000k bulbs. After having them in my 94 chevy truck its so hard to live without them :(

Try www.LEDGauges.com (http://www.LEDGauges.com) they sell a kit, and you won't have to "fab" up anything.

this is what i did, theres a kit that converts you stock lamps to an H4 bulb. and from there u can swap over your balast. this is the kit there is another one that i cant find at the moment that doesnt have the sides and markers. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1993-1997-PONTIAC-FIREBIRD-CLEAR-HEADLIGHTS-SIGNAL-SIDE_W0QQitemZ310183216234QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotor s_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item48385c446a

^^^I had that type on my third gen. they looked good, but they started to leak. Idk if that is a common problem with them or not.

I bought from them a while back, conversion lights both lows and highs for my camaro. Cracked 2 lenses in a week from rocks ... :( . Worked awesome though!

I got all my stuff off Ebay. 4x6 "projector" housings (I'm going to use that word lightly) and 6000K H4 HID's. Paid 38 shipped for the housings and 58 shipped for the HID's.
The housings are NOT tru projectors, but rather just a housing with a piece of glass in them. They look like projectors, but they are not and they do not provide a cut off at all. After saying that, they still worked GREAT. I had to do a little clearancing to the brackets behind the housing with a dremel, but after that they fit just fine with the lights installed.
I will never go back to another halogen after having HID's. I have them in my car, they are in the wife's car and the only thing holding me back from putting them in the truck is the fact that I am going to be getting an 08 All Terrain soon so don't want to spend un-needed money on the Silvy.

Same i just used a 4x6 H4 housing with the HIDs and it was just plug and play. Just make sure when you buy the HIDs they are for a Sealed beam car so you dont have to cut and splice wires and later down the road if you choose to pull them you can install the old sealed beam light and your done. Very easy and cheap mod and must have for all firebird guys cause the stock lights are shit!

I honestly wouldn't waste your time/money with conversion housings and HID's. The output will be scattered and uncontrolled. You will need to aim the lights way down to not blind oncoming drivers and avoid glare inherent with these types of setups. I've had everything from silverstars, conversion housings with H4 lamps, upgraded H4 lamps, halogen housings with HIDs and finally the setup I completed below using bi-xenon projectors.
