That's the Questin? Alright guys what do ya'll think about lowering cars like ours that are already pretty low? What are the pros and cons to both? What is your set up and how do you like it?

mines stock, have had one lowered and didn't care for the ride quality and dartyness of the steering.
Mines lowered. I love the stance. I hate the ride. I need to find some springs that don't ride quite as stiff. If you have long tubes.. I wouldn't go real low at all. Luckily they just dug up my road and repaved it so the entry to my driveway is nice and smooth now :)

it all depends on what you wanna do. I dropped my car 2 inches for the looks, but my ET suffered for it. Also i have like 2 inches of clearance beneath my long tube headers. A lot of ppl will say not to lower if you have LT headers, but it can be done, you just have to be VERY carfeul where you drive. My setup is eibach pro kit for a LS1 car. I have revalved bilstiens. The car rides like a rock. I am def gonna get different shocks. I am not impressed with the bilstiens. I also have UMI adj panhard to re center the rear. I also went with relocation brackets and tubular LCA's. That helped alot with hop under accel. S in short. The pros are good looks and a little better handling. The cons, you should do supporting mods if you want to still go fast.

I have got Pro-Kit springs with long tubes on mine. They wouldn't be that bad if I didn't drive the car everyday, but I do and scrape everywhere I go. I do love the stance it gives the car. Definately makes it look meaner/slicker IMO, but I just hate the ride quality and having to worry everywhere I go.

I also like the lowered look. It's hard out here in cali because they are some speedbump lovers and pot hole junkies. I also have LT's, deep trans pan, and 18's on the rear and would like to get a little bigger tire on the rear too. The reason i was asking is because i found some edelbrock coilovers for the front really cheap so i was debating on lowering it. After some deliberation i think i will stick with stock height. Thank ya'll for all the feedback. Maybe i'll lower her when i get back to Texas.

Lowered. If I wanted a 4x4 I'd have bought a truck.

i bought mine lowered. If it wasnt lowered stock then i would not have lowered it. I agree that it looks like 4x4 not lowered, but my car is nowhere near DD status, luckily i dont have to drive it often (only to race and shows).
if you do lower it, go with a small amount. i hear that the eibachs tend to sag after a little while. lots of people go with strano, but my car has GMS suspension and I love it.
pros: looks good, handles great, good springs will last forever.
cons: takes away driveability because of how low the low gets

i couldnt imagine mine lowered. i have a friend who's driveway has this dip in it and i knew the ground clearance was close, but i didnt realize how close.. i stopped the car in the middle of the dip the other day and got out and i could barely fit a finger between my front bumper and the ground

I was lowered on some Eibach springs and hated the ride the entire time. I just recently switched back to stock springs on double adjustable QA1's. That way I can have stock springs with an adjustable front ride height.

I have a Pro Kit and KYB adj. shocks and I like it. The KYB's arent that harsh at all and the Pro Kit gave the car a really mean stance.

If you ever want to go with 315s on the rear with the car lowered, you'll run into issues with the tires rubbing. I ended up putting air bags on the rear and that solved the problem for me.

airbags or a simple fender roll/BFH can fix that problem :)

Im lowered on 315's and havent had to cut any more off than a stock height car would of. But I can see on the inside edge of my rears where they have rubbed a little... maybe when pulling into a driveway or something where there is a curb.

Dropped 1.5in up front and 1.0in in back with longtubes
Ride quality sucks. I fear for my LT's life everytime i go over speed bumps(bumps in the road etc), but it looks bad ass. Clearance isn't all that bad, you just have to pay more attention

I went with the Eibach Sportline kit. Here are before and after shots. These are taken right after the install so I believe the springs have settled another 1/4 to 1/2 inch or so.

A factory appearance package a lot less "rice" than a VFN hood and LS1 SS Spoiler on a Z28.

Ouch... :jest:
I know it looks like ass. It was ordered that way from the dealership by the previous owner. I'd rip it off, but I'd like to make it look right again after doing so. Unfortunately, the car is going to stay how it is now until I'm out of school and have a real job. It's kind of depressing. :(
