I Take 03' Cobra and Other LT1

:needpics:Evening time and Getting off the interstate are couple of old friends. Buddy in his new yellow Cobra:monkey: and another dark blue 00' cobra. I pull in next to them near the BK lot and spot a new face in a COMP T/A!(hooker lt cat, 3:73 We bs trade#'s and I tell them I want a Dig run. They laugh at me;) but we make the 3 mile trip to a nice 6mile long strait.
We line up, me and comp boy 1st. Arms up Down and Gtech records 4.8 to 60, each shift leaves him falling off early. AT 130 he almost starts comming at 140 hes -1. solid car back. KILL! Make my way back slow at this point im to excited to race the cobra
But he wants quick run anyway, So Lined up, Arms up Down and i Take the hit Gtech records a 4.8, He spun and near 80 hes about 3 cars back I powershift 4th at 6200 and hes on the move, I see 105 and I brake quick just as i see hes near my door KILL!. He wants a rolling run But I call it quits. I cancel plans and call it a good tuesday... Cobra was catx Borla catback stock pulley. I was Very pleased to say the Least.........

x2, cause termi's are 12 sec cars stock, the comp t/a is believable from a dig but a roll if it was a m6 with lt's he def would have pulled on him

The COMP was pwr shifting no doubt the cobra should have left the trac control ON. I am the driver mod.....

Wow, interesting... I raced my old car, which was a full bolt on LT1 car, with my termi last weekend. It wasn't from a dig but yeah...definitely not the outcome of your race... not even close...

OP, why would you race to 140? is there really a need? And instead of the "quick brake" why not just take the loss honorably...

So one race you race to 140 and the next you brake at 105 because thats what you think you would trap in the 1/4. That just doesn't make sense to me. Was the comp t/a beating you at 105 so you just kept speeding on after he let off, then he tried playing catch up again? Thats kind of what it seems like here.

Yeah I still think that the Comp was prolly beating him at 105 so he waited for him to hit the brakes and did a fly by, but we'll never know... lol.

It was a 99 or 01 didnt ask. And iv romped 3 of those already one moved out on me after 125, 5th.

If you beating a car, you dont hit the brakes, just cause your in front and call it a win. you should agree to a certain speed/distance to make it fair. then if you win its a KILL

I KNOW that I was POSITIVE that my car was a FREAK of nature... when I first got her. We were killin' EVERYTHING.

Then... we went to the track. Where we learned that a measured course and a clock are the fast track to a drag-education and a dose of humility...

Whichof course leads to the inevitable rebuild and MO' & MO MODS! And eventually... at some point it occurs to ya that without regard to HOW much love ya pour intoyour baby... SOMEONE IS ALWAYS FASTER... And I HATE THAT GUY!

This is the guy I usually run across the very NEXT week; following a period of TLC, mod and tuning; which brings that rarest of all nights, when everything that stages up slips behind us, run after run; and we play drag-racin'-rock-star for a night... (I LOVE those nights...)

And I guess word gets around and there he or 'they' are when ya drive up the following Friday night... blowers', turbos, roll-cages... the occasionals... who just trot out to spank who ever's making noise; and the whole thing starts all over again.

Guys like the OP are good for Drag racin'... they're pumped; they're absolutely sure... and they're perfectly primed for that inevitable awakening which sustains our avocation...

It's a shame he's banned, 'cause he's the guy that's going to buy someone's heads... your low time 30lb injectors... that set of used hookers... the slightly loved LCA and anything else which promises to make that "G-tech" ping down just one more notch, on the cheap.

'Cause ya know he can't stop himself.

And why should he? He's only a 10th away from where he wants to be... where he NEEDS to be...

So cut him some slack... aside from the general douchery brought on by small experience and a big mouth ;.) he's no different than anyone else.

And besides... he is my absolute FAVORITE guy to race. It never takes long and they always calm down as the education goes up...

Both had A decent driver both had there chance, neither could do anything about getting rolled through the 1/4. I gave the comp the world over Plusmore, to work through his "problems". Cobra driver:shit: or not had 360+wheel to get it done but Couldn't. An Unimpressive Sock lt1 was enough this day to get it done.
