So I am browsing on C-list looking at lt1's parts etc. All these people are searching camaro transam etc. If we built a keyword list specific to fbodys' and made a ltxtech.com add to post , We could all post these in our local area C-list.

One other Idea , Well that I stole is Dirtyimpreza.com is spotted cards. That you can carry and place on peoples cars in the area. This could be a great ice breaker for local owners who dont want to come out and say hey! You own a lt1!!! lets hang out

Just some ideas, I could photoshop up some flyers to post online. Not that the site is dead by anymeans I just think that we have more owners out there that need to know there is a place for them!

I agree :)

Unfortunately tho, it seems to me that most people around my area that are driving LT1 cars aren't really "enthusiasts" They just wanted a "cool fast" car.

Not that there's anything wrong with that :). . . just not the kinda people who are gonna get on this website . . . If you know what I mean

I know exactly what you mean. We have ( sorta dying though :( ) a club here local that has tried everything to drum up membership. We did sucesfully use business card for a while. We would hand them out at events and put them on cars we saw. But now it seems the enthusiasm is gone. A few years ago it was awesome, but now seems like a same 5-6 people for anything. I think this site is growing nicely.

The cars are getting too cheap for everyone that drives them to be an enthusiast, but if you see a modded one or one at a car show it might work. You would have to be selective with what cars you put it on.

but dont you think that pushing it even with the people who may not be current ENTHUSIAST could push them to become enthusiasts if they see what the LT1s are capable of....

If the car is a non modded one, or not some kind of attempt to mod, appearance or Hp, then they probably aren't truly interested in the motor just more of the "I have a Camaro/Firebird" aspect of it. And mostly its a high schooler that is just "dealing" with his/her LT1 until they can afford an LS.

But that is just my opinion. It could work though, you never know until you try it...

I think we can grow the site if we had a boobs section.

Boobs are good.

We can make a NSFW section.

NSFW sections can spiral in to doom. Been there, done that. Only way to do it correctly is make all posts made have to be moderated before hand, and limit access to select members all over 18 years of age ofcourse.

Yeah thats kind of the way I look at. Also how would we know that someone is actually 18, are we going to start asking for a copy of a birth certificate? lol. I think its just better to leave it how it is, that way it isn't an issue and no questions asked. If you really feel the need for that stuff there are plenty of other sites out there.

Now... back on topic because this thing has gone WAY off track of what the OP intended. lol

I agree with you to an extent HUFF, however I use myself as an example... I bought a stock LT1, and knew realy nothing about them... I drove the car with some lowering springs and tint and thought it was fast... Had someone put a flyer on my car that said... HEY, NOTICED YOU GOT AN LT1, COME CHECK US OUT... I would have hooked it up alot sooner in its life.... just my 2c...

I think stock cars are some of the most important cars to get involved. Some people probably dont even know the potential of our cars, and need a way to find out!!

But alot of people can't afford it, if they would have probably got an LSx, and no I'm not an LS nuthugger even though I sound like one right now. Honestly can't stand most of the people that drive them.

Yeah stock cars are important but there are some stock cars that are like my 96 used to be. Completely stock and owned by a lady in her 40's that was scared to drive it in stock form.

Also with these post cards, people put stuff on windows all the time at places like walmart and such. Just like yesterday i had some flyer on my window, didnt even read it, just crumbled it up and threw it away. How do you know that wouldnt happen to the postcards? Just seems like too much time, effort, and $$$ for it to be crumpled up and thrown away.

I think its worth a try. You just might turn an average joe into an enthusiast. I agree with Popo, If I had been dropped a card I would have joined a lot sooner instead of waiting to find this site by accident.

Well then. The only reason I joined up was because I sawthe orginal ltxtech threads on ls1 and huff we know your not a ls1 nuthugger you have a mustang =p

As for the flyer I think a post card in between the felt and window would make it obvious that this isnt a normal come get your dry cleaning done.

On the site I saw those cards from there are threads all time " So I was spotted by XXXXXX" and they join up and go to meets n stuff

Then make up some post cards. I'll ride around in the cobra looking for LT1's. :secret:

Just want to through this out there.
We do this "flyer card" or whatever you want to call it for our local forum and leave cards on a lot of cars that we saw.
I think we got 1 member who joined because of the card left on his car.

I didnt say I was against the idea.
I don't mind putting the cards out, I probably put more cards on cars more then anyone else locally.

I just want to through out what kind of results we had with this
