I have this a stock crank that I was going to sell someone.
I took it out of a doner LT1 car went a bent rod.
I thought it was in great condition till I went to take pix for the guy buying saw a small scap like fracture.
Just wanted to know if its still salvageable through a machine shop. Here are some pictures

I hope the pix can give a pretty good idea of the scrape.

The 1st and very last picture does not show it and I think the 3rd from last doesnt either.
But all the other pix shows the scape. Its at the very top corner of one of the lobes.

The first time I looked at the post it only had one pic. That was the one at the bottom.

I would think it could be fixed easily. Take it to a local shop and show them the crank and ask for an estimate.

I would have to say not salvagable for the amount of $$$ you would have to
spend to have it surfaced and rebalanced .

So if I was to sell it for $70 shipped to someone, do you think the buyer should buy it or look for another one?
If not is there any ideas of what I can do with this crank?

I would just take it to the machine shop and have it checked. Thats gonna be your best bet. Then let the buyer know its condition.

if the only damage is to the outer edge of the throw then a file would take car of it. if it had a bent rod, it could also be twisted tho. you'll have $100 in getting it magged and checked for straightness at a machine shop though. would have to know an accurate history of the failure to decide if i would use it for that cheap cuz the price is nice.
