The security light comes on and goes off like it has amind of it`s own. Any ideas ? It`s getting frustrating. I do have key fobs and they do work. A couple of times the keys where in the ignition switch and came back to find out the doors were lock. Had to brake in both times. Vats ? Diode in key ? Anyone ?

More than likely you are triggering the VATS. You can get a bypass module off Ebay or get it tuned out of the PCM to get rid of the VATS altogether. Another option is to wire in a resistor from Radio Shack. I think shbox has got all the instructions to wire in a resistor, but I'm not for sure.
Another possibility is that your key is just old and worn and not making a good connection. With this, the problem could be inside the cylinder, or with the key itself. If you have a spare set that doesn't get used often, try them out and see if that keeps the light from coming on for a while. If you don't have a spare set, you can go to your local dealership where the ignition key is going to run you about $25 and the door key should be less than $5.

If you disable VATS, will it kill the vehicles stock alarm system? Security lights up on my car, and I do not have the money to buy a new alarm just to disable a fucking light.
If you guys know, I'd be grateful.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. It will not kill the factory alarm system. All the VATS does is kill injector pulse should the resistor in the key not pick up or be incorrect. Bypass the VATS and the alarm will still work. You will have the security light on (flashing all the time), however.
I think that answers your question. I'm a little confused as to what you are asking for sure.

The factory alarm is completely independent from the VATS system.

I have a similar problem. The security light will randomly come on and stay on while driving, for about 5-10 minutes, and then shut off.
Once every few months though, The security light will come on when I first insert the key, and the car will not start when I turn the key. If I leave the car alone for 5 minutes and try again, it will usually start up. Does that sound like a bad key resistor?

My car did the exact same thing today. I think mine is the key too, i hope. Earlier this week i noticed a pause whenever i turned the key to start the car, and then it wouldnt do anything. I just went outside 2 hours later and it cranked right up...

Mine did this to me for the first time in a year or so as stated in my VATS owned me thread on here
I have belief it is the key... if you simply wait the 5-10 min til the security light goes off it'll start right up again
