View Full Version : miss aligned headlight after gear fix

hey guys just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem. i had the gears in my headlight motor go bad and after i fixed it, the headlight sits almost 1/4" higher now and i cant seem to get it to go down. thanks guys.

yeah mine does the same. it goes down to the proper position and then pops up that 1/4 inch you're talking about. i've had the gear in 2 different motors and they both did it so its definately the gear. i just open the hood and manually lower it to where it's supposed to be. 95% of the time when i shut my headlights off i'm inside the garage as i don't generally drive my car that much at night and if i do i'm usually coming home from somewhere.

where can you order these gears? is there a sticky or something written for replacing these?

well they are all over ebay. they have brass gears out there that are suppose to last forever but thats the gear i used to replace the bad one and now the headlight miss a little. i would just replace it with another plastice one and its really easy to fix.

theres three bolts holding the headlight motor to the bracket and one bolt that is attached to the headlight it self. take those 4 bolt off and the motor will come right out.
