I have been thinking about doing some lighting upgrades on my car and noticed that I can get an HID kit for the fog lights of 98+ camaros. The problem is that I have an LT1 car and really would rather keep the front end the way it is. But I was thinking about getting rid of the factory fog lights and molding in the "scoopes" like on the LS cars under the signal lights and installing the fog lights there. It would look factory, but have alot better light output. I'm also trying to work on some HIDs for the regular lamps so I would have nice bright lights all around.

But what are your thoughts on the light openings from an LS1 car molded into the front bumper of and LT1 car??

I actually like the front ends of the 93-97 Camaros better. I'm not completely sure of what you are trying to do though.

I don't think I have ever seen it done before. It is going to be unique if you decide to go that route.

Well I have decided to keep the LT1 front clip, but the factory fog lights just plain suck as do the regular headlights. I'm waiting for a response from Brian2006 on an HID kit for the headlights bulbs, but I am planning on molding in a set of fog light openings from an LS1 front end right below the turn signals just like on the LS cars. I'm not sure how it would look, but it might be kinda cool.

The only thing that I'm unsure about if the pointyness of the LT front and the roundness of the fog light openings. I'm going to find a different front bumper cover and play around with the odea and see how it works out. If it looks like crap I'll only really be out my time and a few bucks for materials. But let me know what you think.....

Heres a few pics, 1st one shows the LS1 openings for the fog lights and my front end is the 2nd pic.

Yeah I don't know about their kits. Has anyone ever bought them? Its really not that bad of a deal since you get the housings and everything, but they are nott HIDs, just replacement filement (SP) bulbs that are suppost to be brighter.

I'm still waiting for an answer from Brian2006 about a true HID kit for the LT1 camaros and if he can build a kit I'll sped the $300 or so for a true HID kit and have some really bright lights :D

You can get those then all you will need is the ballast. To do a HID kit in our cars you need to convert the headlight housing.

Anymore info on converting the headlight housings? What has to be changed about them? And I have just heard that the headlights that you listed really anen't that good

I don't know if they good or not. I seen a write up on the headlight. All i know is you need to mod. them to accept a bulb since they are sealed beams

Oh yeah, I think you just have to pull the light out of the back and glue in the new bulbs. I have already done this to my lights to put in the 9005 silverstar ultras. I may just buy the headlights and see how they are and if they still aren't up to par I'll work on an HID kit.

Thanks alot
