well, with a less than stellar performance at this years challenge, mostly due to procrastination and a damaged rearend in my 86 capri/stang i am starting now on next years project. a 1995 ms t/a is my weapon of choice and i obtained it for a mere $500 due to a rod knock and riced/ruined interior. pics are on my cardomain page http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3811736 but i will be covering the build here.
i managed to get another lt1 for pocket change :) i bought a 94 351w at the local pick a part for $137 out the door, sold the intake to the local scrap metal recycler for $22 puting me at $115 in the motor. found a guy on the local f-body forum looking to sell his lt1. through pm's i learned he was in need of a ford motor ffor a 60's ford he was building for his wife. it all came together and we traded straight up! he was planning to put the lt1 in a 1979 trans am, when he learned how much a dizzy and water pump were going to cost, he threw in the towel. he was paying a shop to do the conversion and at they quoted him over $500 just for those two items!
the motor is down to a shortblock now for a cam install and port work on the intake and heads. the cam is a 280xfi that i bought here. mid length headers and y pipe as well.... more to come :)
