Well I just put in a new cam and dyno tuned it, that should be gauranteed HP/TQ gains and I actually lost a bit across the board and only gained 3 peak HP. http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.ls1tech.com/get/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_sad.gif

As soon as I left the dyno and got on the HWY the SES light went on and ended up being a MAF default. Previously I had pulled the screen on the stocker( it was damaged) and ever since then it hasnt put up as much HP even with the old set up and no changes. So I get the car home and pull the MAF, all the sensors are completely black and sooty. I wanted a new screen anyways so I went and got a new MAF.

Now the car seems to pull alot better drive better and Idle better than ever
b4.
My 2 questions are
1. How much could a very dirty descreened MAF affect the tune, even though it did seem to be working on the dyno.
2. Since the car was tuned with the dirty de screened MAF, how would putting a new one on effect the current tune?

PS Im going back on Wed to get on the dyno and check/adjust the tune for the new MAF.
Sorry for the long read. Just curious to see what you guys think.
Thanks

In so I remember to see the result, I cant see it affecting much as long as they were tuning with a wideband though if they changed the fuel tables by grams per second on air and the pcm is now seeing the correct readings I can see it looking up the wrong cell values than what the tuner set it at.

This is just speculation from what I personally know but I dont tune cars all of my work has come from stock cars n how stuff works.

Yes, I got to this one quite late but a dirty MAF sensor can REALLY F up all your values.

If the PCM cant get the right value from the MAF, things get real wacky.

How did the second tune go AC?

It picked up all over made 9#TQ more but no more peak HP. Car seems to run real nice.

Now heres the Kicker. I took of work, went and rented a trailer, borrowed a truck, paid to get myself, my GF and a Friend into the track, plus fuel costs started unloading the car just to realize I forgot my fu*&in keys at home :( lol

Me too :(! Im still depressed about it.

Chris I think youll need to go pretty far. KCIR is already closed for the yr, so youll have to go farther than that unless, mother nature helps us out and GLD will stay open
