I just saw this thing the other day, and am still amazed at it. It's no LTX, but I would love to own a nice 2nd Gen like this thing.

Personally, I'd probably yank out the motor, and do a FI LSX or LTX under the hood just to make it silly.
Amazing car though IMO.

It's definitely nice. I like the 70-73 RS front ends better though. I will have me a 2nd gen at some time in my automotive lifetime.

That car was beautiful.
I would love to have it just the way it is.
But I wouldnt mind a 383 LT1 t-56 swap...

She's a bute for sure. I'd just need it to be CALL911's definition of fast
Speaking of making it fast, how fast were those cars from the factory? How much did they weigh? Anyone know?

In '70 you could get a 396 in the SS model.
The Z28's from the early 2nd gen era were nice.
The '70 Z28 had the 360hp LT-1, the later years got a slightly detuned version and then the LT-1 got replaced with the L-82 motor which was still around 240-250hp.
They weighed between 3200-3400 depending on options.
They are going way up in price right now.

I've posted these before but I'll whore them out again...
This is a 71 Camaro my dad restored. Was an ex drag car. He intially bought it on a whim with no motor/trans and decided just to make it a nice roller, well the build got a little out of hand. It was in Camaro Performers (the same issue as Tony's car) and he ended up selling it (which was the original plan) to a collector in Texas. I got to "long haul" it on the 2007 Hot Rod Power Tour. Had 31 miles on it when I picked it up. Let me tell you I got 10X more looks driving this car for a week than I ever have total in the 13 years I've had my LT1 car.
It's a 402ci BBC with a Richmond 4+1 5-speed (if you were wondering)

This is my dad's personal car. He's owned it since 1974. It's a 73 RS Z28. Runs a 383 SBC with a Richmond 6 speed. Yes it is an original GM color. Pretty rare color to say the least.

Awesome car Brandon.
I guess to be more specific, what did the early 70's Camaro's run in the 1/4 mile?

low 14's iirc. That was for the '70 with the 360hp LT-1. It was actually faster than the SS396 car.
