I don't know those specs still seem a little small. I would go with a xxx xxx xxx xxx xxxlsa You could also advance it soem if you felt the need.
I'm sure it will run good.

lol!
My cam swap is complete and fired very first flip of the key!!!!! It was late and raining so I didnt drive it yet, but seems to rev up quicker! The idle seems a bit higher and not as choppy, hope the tune will help with that a bit.
Cant wait untill Friday to get this bitch on Speedincs Dyno for a new tune and see what it lays down!!!!!
Thanks Again Lloyd!
Oh I would have done a first start up vid but someone stole the memory card out of my camera.

So how did it go?
AChotrod
11-21-2009, 01:35 PM
Well not so great, car picked up 3HP peak but was down a bit everywhere else. But right after I left the SES went on. I took it back and it was a MAF code. Now it was working while on the dyno but Im not convinced it was working like it should. Once I got home I pulled my MAF and the sensors were completely black, and since I had pulled the screen earlier in the yr(It got damaged) the car hadnt felt as crisp and was low on the dyno. I put a new one in and the car feels great, crisp and faster then ever. Ill be back on te dyno Wed to see if it helped and touch up the tune for the new MAF.

when you swaped cams did you use a degree wheel? or no?
AChotrod
11-21-2009, 03:11 PM
No but Im possitve it wouldnt matter at all. It can only go in one way and it lined up perfect dot to dot, then I did each rocker with the intake off one at a time. Besides if it was off the pistons would be smacking the valves with this cam. As a matter of fact I would be willing to bet most shops dont even degree cams unless its a super nasty cam.

i didnt mean that if you didnt degree it would lack power like you say, i am in the middle of a cam swap, and was wondering if you used a degree wheel or not just for a general question, is your cam still under .600 lift?

Not with 1.6 rockers.

Dude, always degree the cam. I've had cams show up off as far as 6*.
If you install that thing a few degrees retarded, you'll absolutely kill the curve.
Heck, advancing it too far will have negative effects as well.
It's a simple fix and it doesn't take long to do as part of the cam install.
Remember, getting crank and cam dot-to-dot is useless when the cam isn't aligned with the cam gear in the first place.
See attached for example of what 4* can do.
Lt1s have obscene PTV clearance, you're not going to have contact unless you really screw up the install.
I've seen cars built with the timing chain off a couple teeth and still run (like crap, but still run)

The car seems alot better with the new MAF but Ill have to wait and see. As for degreeing the cam, ill pull it apart and double check if it doesnt go better Wed, since the car wont be in use untill spring.

Were did you get the carbon fiber looking decal you put on the roll cage? I liked the way that looked.
AChotrod
06-23-2010, 11:03 AM
Lol, Pepboys sells it in like a 6ft roll. They had the most realistic looking one I have seen around and a lot cheaper then buying real carbon fiber for it.
It didnt come out perfect but I rushed it, was drunk and it was late:doh:. Im going to redo it using some soapy water to get all the wrinkles out.
Shifter for the TH350 showed up today!
