What do you mean by sprayed? Painted? There is some drilled and slotted rotors on ebay for good deals. I wouldnt waste to much on rotors w/o upgrading the callipers. LT's dont have the best stockers.

eh, i got powerslots all around, i dont like the idea of drilled rotors just for the fact that it takes away surface of the rotor, i've had the powerslots on for 2 years now, no warpage, paired them with hawk pads, works great. for stock.

Yea, When I said sprayed I mean Painted. What will go nice with that Hunter Green, I still dont know. Powerslots and Hawk Pads, huh? Will you share where I can find these on the net? Please.. It's kinda embarrasing driving your car then hearing a loud grinding noise all of a sudden.. GEEZ..

you can find this stuff anywhere you usually buy parts. if not, then i'm sure jegs or summit will carry them.

i gotta be honest,,since i wasnt going bigger or replacing calipers i just went the cheap route,,75 bucks for new rotors and pads for the front,,think it was value craft rotors and duralast pads,,i know i know but it doesnt get driven hardly at all and its never seen a track so i just wanted something that would allow me to drive it without breaking the bank,,that was prob 6 months ago and havent had any issues

I did the same. I have a rotor machine at work, and bought duralast pads. I sprayed brake cleaner and wiped off the callipers, sprayed them with red calliper paint from auto zone. Then two new rear rotors and pads, less than a $100. So about $130-$140 for a four wheel brake job. And a little time. It works for now. :hmm: Single piston brakes still blow IMO.

I will never run Duralast again. Yea they're cheap, but also cheap quality. Go with Hawk pads. But for rotors, it doesn't really matter where you get them. They're all made in China anyway. Just get blank rotors, none of that drilled or slotted crap. And the heavier the rotor, the better.

I found a guy on another camaro site selling BAER DECELAs (drilled/slotted) (i think I spelled it right)..... heavy as shit, but not a damn issue with em in 4 years..... painted my calipers red and have been going good.....

Did you read the box? Mine clearly said "Made in China". And yes, I got them from Sam.

I run EBC Dimpled(not through drilled) and Slotted on my HHR along with the Red Stuff pads. Did the front (only discs on the car) for about 200 bucks Pads/rotors shipped. Stops much better now. I will prob upgrade to EBC on the Camaro. FWIW they are made in England.

Strano is a good place to buy brake and suspension parts from. If you really want good stopping power, you really need to upgrade the calipers. Pads and rotors really won't do much with the stock calipers.
Cheepest route most go is just to upgrade to LS1 calipers. They offer a substantial difference of braking performance over the stock LT1 calipers.
As far as rotors go, just thick ones are the best. Having them cryogenically frozen helps a lot. Especially if they are cross drilled and or slotted. Speaking of which, cross drilled and slotted rotors do pretty much nothing to add to braking performance. They are simply for appearance only. I will say that I have cross drilled and slotted rotors on my LT1, but I love how they look. Just understand that if it is stopping power you are looking for only, that the thickes blank set you can find being cryogenically frozen is the best way to go.
If you really want stopping power though, you gotta go with aftermarket brakes like Baer, Brembo, or Alcon. Willwood brakes are cheep, and really are not impressive IMO for aftermarket brakes. They don't come close to either Brembo or Baer.
I would love to see someone do a 5th Gen Camaro brake conversion on an LT1 car. I have no idea what the factory 5th gen brakes cost, but they are massive (and from Brembo).
Most guys just simply don't want to pony up the cash on brakes though, and just go the cheep route of doing an LS1 upgrade. I will tell you (as I have Baer brakes) that an awesome set of brakes on your car is amazing, and in some cases, life saving. I guess it all depends on how you drive your car, but if you drive like I do (a fair amount of triple digit time) then you really should consider going with what really makes a difference.

I've got GM Durastop up front and love them. Durastop pads all the way around too.
