Well I plan on getting some Koni’s over the winter, but the thought of coilovers crossed my mind. Whats the difference? Which would benefit me more? My car will be a mostly street car with maybe 2-3 track visits a year if ever. Looking for more of the road racing kind of aspect. I won’t be running the sportlines if I get koni’s, it will probably be the strano springs. Not really sure what to do here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm going to be Koni with ground control coilover sleeves w/ 550lb springs for the front.

That's the same spring rate as Strano springs. But I'll be able to adjust height.

The rear is Koni w/ "create-your-own-coilover" using hypercoil springs probably do 175lbs spring rate on that. Strano uses 150.

Whats that going to be running you? How much different from strano stuff?

From the reading I've done you can't go wrong w/ Strano/Koni, only downside you might want to go lower.

Strano uses 150 lbs spring rate for the rear as a compromise for drag racing (so the car can squat) and auto-x, road course racing.

I'm like you mostly street and 2-3 times a year a the strip. I'd like to eventually attend some auto-x events in 2010.

I'd also like to raise my car height in the winter, so I won't be plowing the streets, it's my only car, and I can only afford one car right now.

Then in the spring/summer/fall I'll lower the car to have an aggressive yet functional stance.

You'll have to adjust those Konis to get the best feel/response from them also.

I think you should go Koni/Strano or my route.

Is your setup going to be alot more then the koni/strano setup?

I bought the rear Koni's used for about $300, fronts WILL be about $500

GC Coilover sleeves WERE maybe $100 used

rear coilover set-up will be $80 for both Dr/Ps plus springs $90 for both.

The rear springs have to be about 8" in length.

It's been several months since I bought the parts that I do have so those prices are a bit hazy in my head.

If you do the math my setup is about 60-80 bux more expensive.

But I can adjust height. Everytime you adjust height it's advised you re-align the car, but I have lifetime alignment from Firestone.

I have the Eibach/Ground Control coil over setup on some Koni single adjustables, and its a truly sweet setup. I have it adjusted to around 2" lower(ed), so its rough, but is so sick....

I plan on going with the koni/strano combo, I heard nothing but good from it, I just have to bite the bullet. :(

I bet it is. :metal:

Got any pics of the car's stance?
