Just finished my first week with out a cig. This is actually my 3rd time quitting, first 2 tries were on Chantix and couldnt make it happen. Both previous times were the 2 worst experiences ever, Chantix make me sick, felt depressed everyday, and I was an emotional train wreck with ups and downs constantly.

This time Im going the patch route and so far its been easier than lighting up the very first one. Today was a little wack, since I woke up late and forgot the patch, kind of a weird stoned feeling all day haha.

Wanted to see if any of you guys/gals were qutting as well? Anyone have plans to toss the smokes? Any recent quitters?

i quit, A LONG time ago. Actually when cigs hit $1.50 a pack(i think before the patch was invented).. LOL BUT, i remember feeling like crap, so I started smoking cigars. I still smoke 1 -2 cigars a month. They are expensive, so it helps keep me from smoking more. With cigs being nearly $6 a pack now I cant imagine smoking them now. Good luck with the quitting. I just lost my mother in law to cancer (2-3 packs a day for 40+ years). IN the long run it is worth it!

I smoke and cant see how anyone could smoke 2-3+ packs a day. Thats just nasty and who the hell has the time to smoke 60x a day. Thats like 7hrs of smokin???
I should quit but just cant get motivated. I smoke max 1 pack a day. A pack cost 4.50 by my work and 8-9 bucks near my house or inthe city :(

well, not to talk bad about the deceased, but she never did anything. She worked part time (here and there) and spent the rest of the time smoking. then sleeping.

lol I get sick if I have more than one in 2 hours damn, I know a lot of ppl that blow through packs like that, but I could never do it, to the OP and ppl that have and are quitting :hail: I tried a few times, but failed, its hard when ppl around you do it, while your quitting.

Its very tough when everyone you know smokes. i find it easier to do my own thing for the first week or so and lay low.

I have seriously entertained quitting. I know it'll be good for me, and that its nasty... it's just hard to go without something you've been habitually doing for years. I did succeed in significantly cutting down though. Last semester I was probably up to a pack a day, but I tend to cut it down to 5-6 and just plan when I get one. One in the morning, one after lunch, one on way home after class, one after dinner, one before bed... sometimes I fall off the wagon though... especially when drinking. I can't even imagine going out for drinks and not smoking. I'm pretty sure i'm fucked for life lol
