Any of you guys using race headers, and deleting your egr/air, but have PA emissions testing? I dont have to be plugged in for testing, gas cap and visual only. was wondering if I could do race headers and delete egr/air. or would it be better to play it safe and keep everything?

I am, and I have yet to run into the emmision issue....
The motor breaking allowed me to remain EXEMPT...
and the year prior, allowed me to be exempt then also...
What year is your car.... cuz I think it still plugs into your OBD port....

mines a 94, all they do for me is gas cap ( which is taken off the car so I dont think it can read for any codes), headlights, wipers, horn etc. Im not to worried about the inspection part, my main concern is, can my car be impounded for not being emission legal? If I get pulled over. I dont want to do race headers and get screwed for no egr/a.i.r
I believe if you drive less than 5,000 miles the year before, you are exempt for the next year.

yeah im okay with the inspection part , Im not sure this could happen, but what if I get pulled over (ex. loud car) and the cop looks under my car for cats (which i'll have) can they look under the hood and nail me for not having the egr/a.i.r? thats my main concern, maybe popo can shed light on this.

Gut a cat, cut in half, put outer pieces over ORP, problem solved. If the car has over 50K miles, I think you can get away with the "parts were defective" claim and not have to worry. I remember reading something about that in the PA statutes.

In 8+ years I have never done this.... does not mean an over-zealous Trooper with his inspection license wont.... but odds are slim....
And No, you can only be cited... your car wont be impounded....

Oh yeah, and they only check the gas cap to make sure it seals, and vents properly....
