So a friend of mine who I got into fbodies and who has been trying to sell his jeep and find a ls1 bird finally did. 2000 black on black T/A, bone ass stock, leather, monsoon system, 3.23's, and off course, first thing that we needed to do? Yup, have a little friendly comparison of acceleration. We went from a 25ish roll, both had a passenger, I was in second, (I know should've been first, but probably didn't make a difference since now I have an aftermarket lid on my base, first gear has some traction issues at any speed), anyways, I held second, waited till I heard him downshift and to see the car react. Naturally he got the jump, but the ol' LT1 reeled him him pretty quick, and by the middle of fourth I had a solid car and a half. Yes it ended just how I figured, but was still fun to beat up on an LS1:D

being that it was the raised ws6 base, it was a little bit of a pain, a lot of trimming, I would call it grinding, but it's plastic, and umteen times on and off the car before it fit, and also, first thing when the aftermarket lid got here, pulled out the dremel to do some on the lid. With the normal ls1 base it should fit just fine without any trimming. will be going to the track day after thanksgiving to see how big of an improvement it made.

so if i get a aftermarket lid would i be able to make it fit a little bit better than the 1 you have. considering this over the cai, it sounds like its better and cheaper.

hard to beat LT1 torque, espescially from a roll. Nice Kill!

Nice kill!
Better watch out tho. He can make up a car and a half really easy. And stock autos suck from a roll anyway. You guys should go from a dig. Might be a good race.

if you get a normal (non ws6) base with any lid it will clear the lt1 ws6 hood, and you could use the fast toys ram air kit that gets air from the bottom, lot of ls1 guys say it's better than the factory ram air.

Yeah I know, probably after he gets a lid and cat back, he's thinking magnaflow, it should be really close. And a dig would be intersting, he would probably get the jump on me now since I have some traction issues in first now. We're going to run em at the track so we can both get some numbers.
