It was because I have no roll bar. They were kind of rude about it but it was kind of a goal of mine.

I'm not certain of the NHRA limits but they told me they require a rollbar anything quicker than 11.50s.

Yeah I was smiling in the helmet when they were scolding me...

I was actually hoping for a 10 tonight. The DA was -47ft, the temp was low 50's. The track wasn't there for a better than 1.7 60' for me. More seat time will help that too.

Thanks all! It was a blast. I need to practice, practice, practice my launch. I get all into trying to hold a steady RPM, while watching the tree. I need to hook up my two step too.

I'm sure it's got a 10 in it, as long as I can drive. I was having some slight ignition miss too that I'm sure didn't net me my best possible times. Here is a screen shot of the log. The yellow bar is at the beginning of 4th gear on the run. You can see the RPM fluctuating up top.... I'm guessing I need to check the plugs and possibly gap them down some more.

Let me know your thoughts about the ignition...

11.50s or faster needs a roll bar per NHRA rules.

I would try plugs first.

Yes achotrod it is 11.49 or faster for a 4-6 point roll bar. I've got one of those nifty nhra rule books in my garage.

Well, I'm not going to put a roll bar in it. My kids are just getting old enough to ride in the car and eventually I plan on taking the entire family with me on Power Tour. I want to keep it easy to get in and out of for everyone.

At the track I'll just shut it down at 1000' until my last two passes for the night. The first one they can warn me, the 2nd not let me run anymore that night.

My car drives straight as an arrow, I barely have to do anything but shift.

Just some food for thought, the NHRA rules are there for our safety! Even if you shut down at the 1000' it doesn't change the fact that your car is still accelerating at the same rate as a low 11 to high 10 second car to that point. I know you said it drives straight but we never know what the track has in store for us or what the car that went before us left! Not to mention the stress on your chassis with that kinda power! I don't blame you for not wanting to put in a bar, having kids wanting to ride and power tour stuff. Just keep in mind accidents can happen to all of us and that's why the rules are what they are. Not trying to bash your thoughts, your not the first and deffinatly won't be the last to shut down early for a slower time! OK off my soap box now congrats on a new PB, you got it haullin ass!:hail::claps:

Josh, good points and definitely something to think about. I appreciate the comments. It does make sense that if I ever start to race it on a regular basis that the chance of something bad happening could. At that point I'd much rather still be in one piece and be able to be safe to be with my family after an accident. Even if getting in and out of the car was more difficult.

Thanks for that perspective.

Nice #'s. What tires are you running? Have a vid?

You should bring your car to the shootout next year. There's a chance, it'll be in Memphis ;)

No vid...normally the wife would have recorded it but she couldn't make it.

It was on 17" ET Streets.
