So as is my car is putting down 583rhwp (maybe 700hp crank?) only on 8 psi...next year im aiming towards 800RWHPish
Should I 1/2 fill the block this winter?
How is drivablitly after like for heat? I know Taner is half filled and he has driven for a few hours no issues.

with a 200 shot on that you should be fine, im making 583RWHP at the moment, Also when I was N/A I was making 411RWHP thru a 12 bolt and auto and I gave it a 125 shot a few times then stopped bc I was sick of checking my plug gaps and they fouled up after comming off the juice.
But for extra insurance it would be a nice thought!

Mine isn't filled.
Both of the shops that I talk to don't want filler in it. When LME put it together thay said it wasn't needed and I told them I wanted to give it 350+ hp of spray.
The other shop that will be getting my motor soon doesn't want filler either. They said that it cause issues with bore taper and the bore needs to be looser if I do go that way in the future.
I'm 3200 pounds on nitrous and the time is in the sig

block filler is only needed when block cylinders are overbored to a point where the walls get too thin to be safe.

Mine is half filled. All of my engines in the past have been half filled. To me it is just added strength to the block. It helps keep the bores from moving around and helps stabilize the block. Kinda gives you an internal girdle. It can't hurt...right?

Or if you punch through to water on a stroker.

what exactly is "filled", and what is it "filled" with?

A lot of guys I know use "hardblok". Seems to work well.
Its basically high tech concrete.
Its worth mentioning that you cant just "fill" an existing block thats already setup without further machine work.
If youre going to fill a block your shop needs to know about it before hand.
my next block is going to be 1/2 filled. i want the added strenth.

block fill is NOT always good for filling where you broke thru... that needs to be treated with an epoxy then the fill added ontop of it, the fill CAN but will not always seal to the block properly and should be watched closely... IMO if i were abusing the motor i would do 1/2 fill. i would worry more under N20 than boost but both can be pretty harsh

My block is 1/2 filled I think it definitely gives you a little added protection but then again how much will it really help 25+ lbs boost??? In the next few months I'll know.

cooling with half-filled LT1s is not a big issue i guess since its a reverse flow cooling system
