ok, so im debating on taking my side moldings off for the sleek look. what is holding them on? and how do i get it off if its 3M double sided tape?

It is double sided tape. Hair Dryer (LOW HEAT) and some Fishing Line will take em right off. Black is tricky though... could be faded..

Did they remove the old moldings before painting? I had the little area behind the door on my camaro touched up and they cleared OVER the piece of molding. I had to wet sand and re-clear the area.

Yeah, if you wanted to do it, over the summer was the time. I just attempted it when it was 80 outside and my thumb about fell off even though the surface of the car was at least 150 degrees and sitting in the sun.

And if they didn't remove the side moldings when they painted, it will look like shit underneath. Mine looks like shit under mine, I found out it was repainted.

I took mine off a couple of weeks ago, just parked it in the sun for about 30 minutes and then pulled them right off. The trans am lettering was a little more difficult but still wasnt too hard. Mine looks fine, not faded or repainted. Guess I got lucky

Oh and to get the tape off, Goo gone works. you can find it at walmart in the paint area or at autozone. It's probably cheaper at wally world

Def take them off. I dont like them at all. Luckly mine didnt come with them
