Ok so here is the deal, one day my drivers window decided to just top working normally. If I opened the door about half way it would work fine, but when it was totally shut, no dice.

So, I replaced the window motor, thinking that was the problem. Nope.

Today I replaced the window switch, still no luck.

The window no longer functions at all, door open or not. I can hear a clicking sound from a relay when I press the button down, but nothing happens.

Anyone have any sort of clue?

Oh yeah, the passenger window works great, no problems there.

theres got to be a short in the wiring. or a corroded connector

I too was thinking a bad connection somewhere. It seems to make (beforehand) minimal contact to get enough juice to get it up.

i would test the wiring in the door and make sure nothing is getting pinched or anything. and/or just re-run a set of wires for the switch back through so you know its not getting pinched and grounded out or anything.

I may try to just run new wires and be done with it. I checked the wires and they look ok. Maybe an internal seperation or corrosion.

use an ohm meter and check for continuity.

Its just so weird. If the door is open at like a certain spot. It works great, but if its open too much or shut too much, it won't work. Odd. Ill try stuff with the wires over the weekend. Thx guise.

when you say "the wires look good" are you checking them where they go into the door near the hinges?with it working according to the door moving in different spots i would say thats where the issue is

Yeah I removed the boot between the door and car and there are no splits in the wires.

So weird.

Yeah...what he said. Visual appearances don't really mean much, unless the split or break is pretty obvious. Start from one end and work your way to the other. You'll probably find a bad (internally broken) wire.

I wonder if its the door itself causing the problem. Maybe its flexing and binding when shut. Just a thought. If its not wires, it may be a bad track or somthing out of line.
