parking brake doesn't work!!!

when i go to park my 94 firebird formula 350 LT1 V8 and pull the e-brake it does seem to engage and the brake light on my dash stays on. what do i do?

is there any resistance in the line or does the brake just pull straight up like its not connected to anything? if there is no resistance you probably broke the cable underneath the car.

Mine does the exact same thing there is reistance and I have visually inspected the cable, but it doesn't hold.

same here wooshie, i've went as far as replacing the intermediate cable and still nothing. at first those ears that hold the 2 rears broke off the old one, so i thought that was my problem, i replaced it, still doesnt hold. i gotta really pull on it and leave it in gear if i park on a hill
methinks it's something to do with the piece on the caliper, like it has to be adjusted somehow.
