Yeah I had to drive the 96 on slicks for a little while I know what you mean lol.. and so far the 96' has a best of 9.93 @ 142. Its definitley a fun car to drive... after driving that car, my car feels SO slow. after the 383 is built and we get the A.I. stuff on there my car will be a little better.

We gotta come check out that Cobra sometime! I saw the pics in the lounge :metal:

Need to make sure it's not a 1LE first, how can I tell? The sticker in the glove box is too messed up to read but it's got manual windows, manual locks, manual seats, manual mirrors, auto tranny.

I highly doubt it, Rick. There were only 19 1LE cars made in 93. Most of them went to Canada.
Not impossible though.
Does it have A/C or did it have by the belt routing diagram? If so, Not 1LE.
A/C on a 1LE was first offered starting in 94.
Does it have orig shocks? Orig 1LE shocks are extremely stiff for high speed road use. Mine lasted 90K mi.
Does it have Fog Lights? No 1LE's were made with them although they could be added, you would be able to tell if they were.
Does it have an Engine Oil Cooler? All 1LE's had them.
Next, does it have any options at all like CD player, remote Trunk release, power door locks, etc? If so again Not 1LE.
I have seen 4th gen Z28's with crank windows.
A few fully optioned Z28's were made using 1LE suspension parts with stronger LCA's from the factory. You would notice the difference in the bushing...heavier and fuller than the usual stock offering.
1LE's were made for the Canadian Players Associaton who were road racers and most if not all 93's were 6 spd with the M29 Viper Trans.
My stock reg weight is 3311
Lastly according to the 1LE site there are only 4 registered 1LE's left. (2 yrs ago) so your chances of coming across one is les than hitting the lotto.

also, Rick, I have the complete 93 Repair manual with all factory specs and troubleshooting if you need help with specs.

JFI there were 10 93 Firebird 1LE cars made. Only one was tagged for the street. A Yellow one used by GMHTP Mag for an R&D mule.

yeah man, got some things worked around so I am going to keep it for now. about to throw some suspension parts under it and try to get it to hook up better. Running pretty good. chewed up a pushrod a couple weeks ago. the torque arm keeps coming loose at the rear for some reason. but getting it all sorted out. haven't hit it with the juice yet, ubt I am planning on filling the bottle and giving it a try this weekend at fl2k. my friend is letting me borrow some tires, hopefully I dont grenade the rear
