My Z vs. LS1 GTO

Met up with a buddy last night.

1st race dig - I came out on him from the hole shot, pulled him by a few cars I beleive.
2nd race 35 roll - He got just the slighest jump, I reeled him in. Not sure how many cars I had on him on the big end.
3rd race Another dig. He launched better this time. Neck and neck through 1st and 2nd. I started pulling towards the end.

Hopefully BluBeaSSt will have the video ready pretty soon.

My mods in sig. I think the GTO is stock with just a K&N filter..

I think he'd put down more than my car was rated at crank hp.

Those cars do heat soak pretty bad and he does have a few lbs on me.

My car as most of you know:
(Factory specs)
Horsepower 275 @ 5000
Torque (ft/lbs) 325 @ 2000

1st race i'd say a good 2, roll about the same....but when he took the TC off you only had him by a car.

Highway roll would of been a good one!

Sounds about right... a little more hp, a little more weight.... your gear took him and once you guys got up there he would've started reeling you back in when as you ran out of gear.

Don't forget the LS1 is a high RPM motor,unlike the LT1. So a Highway pull I put money on the GOAT

This is true, like I told Rick, take out TQ Management BS and a little timing advancing that will be a whole different car.

Don't forget the LS1 is a high RPM motor,unlike the LT1. So a Highway pull I put money on the GOATI put my money on the car best geared for the situation. unless one driver is significantly better.

I believe with the new Camaro coming out (having the same drivetrain as a GTO) there will be more on shore aftermarkets being made,thus cheaper gears. A set of 3.90's would help that car out TONS
