Well I have been seriously debating about doing a front clip swap on my camaro. I really hate to do it and make it look like a newer car, but the crappy headlights is really making me want to do the swap. That and the fact that the front bumper needs some TLC as well as the drivers side front fender and I want to add an SS hood.
What are your thoughts and whats the cost run? I'd like to do it so everything is right and works correctly, such as the headlight brackets, front bumper brackets and everything like that.
Anyone have any links of it being done? I know I saw one before, but I can't find it now.
BTW don't hate me for it LOL I like the LT1 front better, it looks alot meaner

I would never change my LT1 for a LS1 front just get better lights and i think ss hood looks better on lt1 but thats just me looks meaner

I think the LT1 cars have cleaner looks than the LS cars. I could be biased, however :)

Yeah I know that the LT1 front ends look way better than the LS1 fronts, but the LS fronts have some good looks to them too. And the reason that I want better light is that I do about 40% of my driving at night and the headlights in my car are really pissing me off.
But an LT1 car with an SS hood looks simply badass, what are some other headlight options that look good and are really bright? And no I won't do the fog lights to replace the headlights just because I think it looks like crap (no offense, but its not for me)
My car is polo green and I don't think they had any LS1 cars that were polo green and if I do the LS1 front I was going to add a black billet grille, black headlights, satin black manta stripe on the hood, and satin black berger to make everthing flow really well. I'm also getting some TTMs in anthracid (SP) so I don't know. I think it could look good either way, but the better headlight options is making me lean towards the LS type front.
But if you have any headlight options for the camaros please post it up, I'm open to different options ;)

ill bet you can convert your headlamps to take an HID setup. I think Brian2006 works with them, but i could be wrong.

If I were you i'd just go with some HIDs, you don't have to pick the super purple or blue color so it looks ricey and it will probably cost you less in the end.

If your having lighting issues PM brian2006. He is the man when it comes to that stuff. It just wouldn't be cost effective to buy the front end swap, when you could just upgrade your lights and repaint what you have.

On another note, does anyone here use the EuroLamps? What do you think of them?

Sorry but I will not spend $180 on replacement bulbs that are not HIDs but look a likes. I'd rather see if Brian can setup a good HID setup for around $300 and have something worth while.
I already have upgraded the stock bulbs with some silverstar ultras, but the improvement was little if at all. I PMed Brian and emailed him and haven't heard anything back yet, but when I do I'll post up here.
Thanks again guys

I ended up buying those. Really didnt make all that much difference. They are definitly brighter, but something still doesnt seem right. a month after i got them one of my low beams bulb exploded for no reason. Was sort of weird driving at night and having the light just go out haha. Then a week after the right highbeam took a rock and broke the lense . Im cursed.

HAHA sorry bout the curse man, but thanks for the info. I'll stay away from them then, I'm looking for a light that you can really tell the difference. These damn stock lights have got to go, I think I could probably attach 4 mag lights up front and get more light outta them. I got another idea that may be in the works here pretty soon for my winter project and if it works out it should be pretty cool.

Well I haven't heard anything from brian2006, but he does offer a set of HIDs for the fog lights of LS1 cars, so I'm thinking of molding a set of fog light openings from an LS1 camaro into my car so I could use the LS1 fog lights and get rid of mine.
If you look in the multimedia there is a chop in there of what it would look like and its looking ok so I might try to find a bumper cover locally and start hacking it up :)

There is another option. I have seen some people replacing their headlamps with rounded or ovular foglights because the fogs are brighter and look better. I'll see if I can find where I saw that...

Greg Norris on here has done that. IMO, it takes a pretty aggressive look to pull it off. And even then, some lights end up looking way too small.

I refuse to install round or oval fogs into my light openings, I hate the way that looks.
I ended up with 4300k HID kits and it help ALOT, but the lights still suck LOL. My car is simply too low to get a good throw on the road, but the HIDs helped alot. I'll be keeping the LT1 front end

I resent that thank you very much :)
Keep an LT1 car, the early 4th gen front end. In my eye's that's just like a kid with at plane GT Stang putting Cobra stuff all over it.

Why don't you try adjusting your lights up? Wouldn't that help if you say your too low to get a good throw on the road?
I resent the Catfish thing as well! I mean, are second gens catfish as well? And I wouldn't exactly call an LS1's "eyes" small and beaty.

Look at the hella FF75's. Here's some pics. They're "oval" but they're more rectangular than oval in my opinion.

Whatcha think? I'm planning on going this route here when I get some spare cash... especially because the lights are super cheap (comparatively) on ebay. Also, I ditched the foglights for 1LE deletes a long time ago.. I think you would have to put FF75's in the foglight spot or delete them for it to flow well with the front end... the red one above would look killer without those fog lights. You can really see the brightness difference between stock lenses and the FF75's clear lenses.

Woahh. I hope the guy saying to go to Brian was joking. That guy owes hundreds of dollars to people on LS1Tech - check it out for yourself if you don't believe me.
Anyway, my 93 came with an LS1 front end and at first I loved it. But then I realized the LT1 SS hood is amazing, so the Lt1 front is back on it.

Those still use the crappy lenses with the lines on them... that's why I'd go the FF75 route... you're sacrificing small amounts in the size to gain some in looks department as far as outdated 80's-esque headlamps go. I hate the lenses on our headlamps... I mean they make clear lens 3rd gen kits that look normal, I just can't believe they haven't made any for the 4th gen... huge market and lots of money to be made..

No body mentioned the simple SILVER STAR conversion...
I know we were discussing this in someone elses thread a few weeks ago...
I did it and I love em, and My car sits low....
Ironically here is a video I just shot at night from the front of my car....
