:frustrated: So, just when I think I have the fastest car on base down here in Columbus AFB, MS (with the Formula in my sig, as my Z28 is in storage back in Indiana)... a buddy of mine went and bought a C6 Z06 with a couple bolt ons.

I just rode in it a few minutes ago, and I am confident he would walk away from my Formula easily :cry:

I guess I'll have to settle for number :peace2:

All and all this isn't really saying much as Columbus is such a small town. But theres just some silent happy psychological experience I get from looking around at a big parking lot, and knowing my car can take down everything as far as the eye can see. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this complex around here :D

I think your formy would give it a run for the money. With some gears behind it, it would definitely give the Z a run.

The only chance the Formula would have, would be right in its power band, and only to 100. After 100, the Z06 would kill it. Who knows, perhaps they will get lined up, but I don't think it will be as close as some of you are thinking. The Z06 is lighter by almost 400 pounds, and I thought they put down around 470 ish to the wheels on a dyno (stock). This one has bolt ons. Not to mention the Formula is in some need of a transmission re-build. Nothing that would be a show stopper, but it has a lock out issue with 5th, and most of the syncros are getting pretty bad.

if its h/c/i headers ect then its probably in the high 500's if not 600 rwhp with 7000 RPM!!!

Its just got an aftermarket air intake, and an aftermarket exhaust (cat-back). Nothing touched as far as the motor.

I/E on a Z should be good for about 470 MAX. Stock they dyno around 440. You'll have a traction advantage initially, and that MS4 in the car is a top end cam and likes to charge up high, which is why I say you'd give him a run.

He gets better traction than I do (granted he has traction control). The Formula's cam is a MS3 not a MS4, but never the less, you are correct in the fact it is a top strong cam.

We'll probably line em up at some point in time. But I still think its not going to be as close as some might suspect.

how about not modify but add to? a little sneaky peak shot on the top end might just give you back your dissadvantage due to weight and hp. Plus i agree with some above i'm sure you can drive and being that he just got it... he might not? idk the guy or situation but he might also be able to drive the hell out of that thing and in which case, GET IT ON VIDEO! if you loose... at least you lost to a beast!

Saving for a house currently, so all the would be car mods are on "standby" for the next year and a half. It wouldn't matter anyways though. The only money I'd sink into the Formula is maybe to fix the tranny, and possibly get some different wheels.

The Z I have a couple things I need to get done, but all and all I actually am satisfied with both my F-bodies.

Stoleit is the person we are talking about. His Camaro (like mine) is in storage back were he is from. He just bought the C6 Z06. He is in pilot training with me down here in Columbus MS.

It's crazy, but I've met 3 different people I have talked to for years on the boards due to just being in the right place at the right time. Mostly also due to the Air Force and getting to travel.
