Gonna head back to the track and see what we can do this time with the car....
Plan on getting more agressive with the jets and much more aggressive with the delay between nitrous stages....
gonna put the car on twin 175 shots, leave on one and have the other come on hopefully at like .5 or so..... gonna start at 1.5 and go from there.. :D

Keep us posted.
Joey has his car back together and just went 9.12 with the steve johnson crossbar plate. I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't in the 8's too in the next couple of weeks.

can't wait to see what you run!

Hell if I can run the number I'd be the "First fuel injected LT1 in the 8's...".....
ya friggin carb guys... :D:D:D
thanks fellas. I'll keep ya updated. I'm not gettin crazy with it and guaranteeing anything cause I know this is a process. Dropping 4 tenths ain't easy at these ET's....
but we had a pretty soft setup when we went .39 so I know it has at least 9.teens in it with the same jets.....
And i've always got bigger jets if need be.. :D

I wouldn't bet on it. I've been told that I wasn't even the first that did it and I have time slips. I guess there is a street racer that someone says has seen a car doing it for a few years. I'm disappointed that he didn't show up at the shootout this year.
j/k but this came from a different board.
EDIT the post says it was even done with factory heads and intake. That is impressive if true.

factory heads and intake???? I highly doubt the validity of that claim..... you and i both know how much power it takes to run such numbers in a non stripped 2800 shell of a f-body.... and the LT1 intake leaves MUCH to be desired in the way of air distribution.... even with a fogger it would be unlikely you could spray enough to do it without hurting something.... seems pretty iffy to me. I know that the net is not the end all be all of records and such but seems unlikely that dude would completely fly under the radar at every track that ppl have seen him at that DO have internet access... someone would have video of such a magical beast if it exists.. :D:D:D:D
either way. wuteva. doesn't really matter i guess...
onto better news....
Got in three passes at grudge. would have gotten in 4 most likely but for some strange reason after my second pass I had ZERO oil pressure on my gauge... :hmm:
either my motor is blown or we have a faulty sender... got a mechanical from a buddy and we verified that we did in fact have oil pressure....
Made three passes tonight. Still shaking the car down and trying to nail down what the car likes for air fuel ratio, timing etc..... but we did get more aggressive with the tuneup and delay for the 2nd stage...
1st run-9.302@151.679 1.401 60' time.... (finally part of the in dire need of a parachute club)....
2nd run-9.34@151.474 1.457 60' time (redlit start after transbrake malfunctioned and sat there for a moment then launched but timer had already started)
3rd run-9.203@151.195 1.364 60' time.... (great pass, not the best 60' we've had but it'll do.. 0.8 seconds delay before 2nd stage turns on. 150hp stage 1, 175 hp stage 2....
What's funny is we went 5.882@120.218 in the 1/8 mile which by my calculations should equate to a 9.0x.. so i need to figure out why my car isn't backhalfing like it should..... maybe need to mess with high gear timing/fueling or sumthing...... also seemed like when we leaned it out to 12:1 the car actually lost MPH..... not sure it likes the hotter burn.... weird... either way we're creeping up on it and we're going to experiment soon with twin 175 shots and trying to turn both kits on at like .5 or .3... hell maybe even 0.1 like big mike over there.. :D

got the vids up.....
1st pass off the trailer..

9.34 but car jumped thru the transbrake... lane still awarded me the win for some reason though even though I clearly redlit....

and here's the 9.20 best pass to date......

yeah we're gonna creep up on how much spray we want to put thru it and seeing what the tire will take. i KNOW for a fact if we do a 175 1st stage and 225 2nd stage like .5 out that it WILL go in the 8's....
however not having a step by step approach and creeping up on nitrous levels that large could easily be catastrophic.... 1 pass on a 400 shot not properly tuned can EASILY melt a motor down... although my plugs looked pretty good last night even on 325hp.... and my injectors have PLENTY of duty cycle left.... 400hp I'd probably be going down track with like 6 degrees of advance... we're gonna do the 175/175 first and see what that does.... if that goes well i'm willing to go 225 1st stage and 175 like 1.0 second in.... even that could be an 8 second pass.... 400hp goes a LONG way when you're going downtrack....

Outlawz can you post the rest of the time slip info? I want to see some 330' and 1/8 mile times/mph.
I went
60' 1.349
330 3.738
1/8 5.742 at 122.46
1000' 7.478
for comparison.
Your mph is going to have me. I better get it ready to go back out and raise the bar. :shame:
your car shure leaves perfict and fast on that 175....

Yeah we're making some good power and the car is putting down alot of MPH.... we're set at 325hp jets right now but we're going to move up with that as well. I think i'm gonna have to run about 155 to run somewhere around 8.80....
here's the incrementals..
60': 1.364
330: 3.808
1/8: 5.882
MPH: 120.218
1000: 7.677
1/4: 9.203
MPH: 151.195
thanks again fellas... i'm just glad we REALLY didn't have zero oil pressure...
